In a new update provided on the game’s official website, Konami has confirmed that Super Bomberman R Online will be shutting down its servers at the end of 2022. The closure is set to happen December 1st, 2022 at 01:00:00 (UTC). The Nintendo Switch version, as well as all other releases of the title, will be affected.

Due to the upcoming closure, Konami will also be stopping the purchase of both Bomber Coins and Premium Packs on June 1st, 2022 at at 01:00:00 (UTC). Players who have unspent coins will need to use them before the serves shut down this December.

Even with this shuttering, Konami has confirmed that there is still more in store for the Bomberman series. In their statement, they say:

The “Bomberman” series is moving forward with new projects. We hope to be able to inform you of this project soon. Thank you for your continued support of the “Bomberman” series.

Bomberman 64 HD Collection + Bomberman Hero

That's what I would like to see!

Well that sucks. I've had so much fun with it and it runs so well. It's kind of like tetris 99 or pac man 99, but with only 64 players bombing the crap out of each other. Hopefully it returns in some other form.

Glad to see they still have plans for Bomberman. I hope it's a new action/adventure game.

And that it plays like the N64 titles.
