Just last night, I found out that I’ve spent almost 1,200 hours playing Fortnite. I know it was time well spent and I had a lot of fun, but I also wondered what else I could have done with that time. In the case of 3D artist RwanLink, 1,200 hours resulted in a stunning recreation of Zora’s Domain from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 5.

The video above shows a very detailed look at what a next-gen version of Ocarina of Time might look like. It’s all the work of one fan, but it’s extremely impressive nonetheless. While some might take issue with the decisions made in terms of character models, there’s no denying the environments look absolutely breathtaking.

Nintendo has already done one remake of Ocarina of Time, so who knows if they’ll ever revisit the title again. If they do, they now have some stiff competition from RwanLink and his work!

I seen this last week after it was on the IGN boards. I liked it, but there was another one I came across, and it was more impressive because of the water.

Making it more realistic doesn’t make it look better. This trend is a sad one.
Yes, everything is more shiny and detailed, but a Zelda game also needs to have a consistent art style. The realistic hair puts me off. Doesn’t fit at all with the stylised face. The Octorok skin is also way too detailed for the character model.
