Mario Kart 8 Deluxe fans around the world have been wondering just when Nintendo is going to bring us the second wave of Booster Course Pass content. Nintendo hasn’t made a peep about the topic, but it turns out they might not have to.

We’ve learned that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will see maintenance on July 28th, 2022 from roughly 10 to 11 PM EST. The maintenance will last just a bit over an hour, and the downtime is certainly causing speculation about more DLC tracks on the way.

We know for a fact that there’s more DLC coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and downtime for the game could certainly point to preparations for Wave 2. We see this sort of downtime all the time with the Switch Online NES/SNES/Genesis/N64 collections, and it always indicates new games just a few hours later. Will that be the case for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe maintenance? I guess we’ll all find out on July 28th!

Wasn't there a rumour that the second wave of DLC was to hit on the 27th? There was, and there was talk that it was supposed to happen last Wednesday. If enough people shout, someone will eventually be "right". Though there's been no Nintendo Direct, Nintendo seem to have had major announcements for the past number of weeks. I thought maybe they'd skip this week, because of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 releasing, but DLC for MK8D shouldn't affect it.
