Nintendo Developer Portal website launched

Nintendo has combined all of their programs for developers into one portal. So no matter if you are an established developer or just one person looking to make a game, this is the portal you need to go if you want to develop games for Nintendo systems! Anyone from around the world can register, including people from Japan (who previously couldn't register for the indie portal).

Check it out here.

I'm really happy with the state of the development ecosystem Nintendo has slowly been establishing on their systems. With 3DS, and even more so Wii U, they've been tearing down barriers of entry for people who want to put games on their platforms. That can only be looked at as a good thing.

For how slow Nintendo can be to adapt to newer ways of thinking, they have been pretty ahead of the curve in the console space in respect to indies and stuff like Humble Bundles.

The team at NoA that Mr. Adelman (formerly) and Mr. Baker (currently) leads has done a great job at transforming Nintendo's publishing policies.

Loving the logo they have there. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it becoming the NX logo as posted in the thread on NeoGAF comes to pass:

The NX logo will be extended so it reaches the bottom half of the N. So, it'll look like a mix of an N, an X and an infinity sign in order to symbolize that NX will be Nintendo's one and only console/handheld platform from now on. Boom!

[I'm positive that the NX will indeed be Nintendo's one and only hardware platform going forward, at the very least aka Sony with Playstation]
