GameStop's Switch page says 'play Pokemon at home'

The new Nintendo Switch (a.k.a. Nintendo NX) has finally been revealed, and it's an exciting combination of home and handheld consoles. That's right, it's the first truly hybrid console that you can play anywhere. Play at home, play on the go, play with friends or play alone with the all-in-one Nintendo Switch console.

Nintendo Switch games will include new title offerings from Mario, Splatoon, Zelda, the NBA and more! You will even be able to play Skyrim on the go, or Pokemon at home with the Nintendo Switch. The unit will also include a number of handy, interchangeable Nintendo Switch accessories.

Experience a new era of gaming greatness with the new Nintendo console. The new Nintendo Switch is available March 2017.

We saw this the other day, but it seems to be cropping up in discussion once again, so I'll present it to you guys. Do you think it's just a bit of fanciful writing from GameStop, or was this approved verbiage from the Big N that was posted a bit early?

That looks like Wuhu Island. Please give us Wuhu City Stories.

Well, it's not like any of Nintendo's consoles are devoid of Pokémon games. Wii U had Pokken, Rumble, and a ton of VC stuff.

Kind of interesting to see it tossed in with all the other top tier console titles (like The NBA!), could easily just be throwing ideas on the wall. I don't think Skyrim was confirmed either.

Whether or not a major Pokemon game comes out on the Switch all hinges on one question: will Nintendo release a new dual-screen handheld system to serve as the successor to the 3DS, or does the Nintendo Switch truly take over for both sides of Nintendo's gaming operations?

This is a fantasy, based on reality...

~~When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me~~

FFXV confirmed for switch.

What is that from? It sounds very familiar...

Stand by Me. A popular song that's also featured in FF XV.

Didn't GameFreak already say they were making a Pokemon game for Switch?

I believe they have been talking around it.

Pokemon on Nintendo!?

Thank goodness.

I don't know about all of you, but it has boggled my mind why Game Freak has been designing Pokemon games since the Game Boy especially so that they don't function inside of your home. How they could pull off this feat always amazed me.

But no more, folks. FINALLY, for the first time ever, we are going to be able to play Pokemon at home!

Glory be to Iwata on high!

Haha! I play my 3DS (and every other handheld I've owned) at home quite a bit, so I felt the same way reading that.

NGC - Gameboyplayer

There have been ways in the past, but it's just at this point that console and portable tech has met. (For Nintendo). Switch is bridging their efforts in both the console and portable space. It might be risky but going by numbers, maybe bringing portable games to the console could boost their hardware numbers (if priced right).

Hi. Mine name is sarcasm. Was that not clear?

I still own my NES which I bought with my own money back in 2nd grade, and the 50 or so games for it. Along with all my other Nintendo systems. I know full well Pokemon has been playable at home.

The Pokemon Trainer Dating Sim alright!!!!

Nah, it's probably just in the veins of Hatoful Boyfriend... but with Charmanders and Squirtles.

Oh man, I was hoping for this day to come since Nintendo prohibited players worldwide to not play Pokémon when at home.

Oh, wait....
