PR Bullshit vs random salty commenter. Which is more credible?

At least it sounds like it's been custom made for Switch!

It is not. This is PR bullshit.

FIFA 18 will just be a shitty port of the PS3 and 360 version.

C'mon, why do people still believe in third-parties when it comes to Nintendo? That's why they keep bullshiting Nintendo fans.

EA has been bullshiting Nintendo owners for years... and you still think they are making an exclusive version of FIFA 18 for the Switch when they could easily port the PS3 version (just like the did on the Wii U launch)?

C'mon... Even YOU should be to smell the bullshit, c'mon...

Can't say either way until the game is out. The Switch has got some serious momentum so it's entirely plausible for any company to want to invest in it.

To be fair; EA's past actions is all anyone has to work off of.

Now, it's fine to be neutral and just hope for the best, but seeing others expect the worst from them isn't something that i'd say is worth bringing down, (in this particular case) just cause it's negative. It's EA's own fault nobody likes them, and that isn't exclusive to Nintendo fans.

That's very true. I guess I'm trying to give EA the benefit of the doubt today just because of what was shown of Battlefront 2.

But still... Take away EA's history of blunders and it does make sense for it to invest in Switch now (like make a custom engine and reuse it for each subsequent FIFA game for the duration of the Switch lifecycle).

So... Idk... I'm going to be neutral. We can't really know anything until we get the game in our hands and I admit that's pretty sad.

I'd give a point to the random salty commenter for a change; the game's trailer stated that both the Frostbyte engine and a new mode won't be available in the Switch version as well as the PS3/x360 versions, giving some rooting ground to his thesis.

(But then again, I usually don't care about sport games sooooooooooooo)

But it's also possible they made an engine for Switch which they will recycle for each yearly release for the duration of the Switch lifecycle.

I mean... just possible. I really don't care about FIFA or any EA games... outside of Battlefront 2 if they actually make serious effort this time.

Well, let's wait on actual gameplay footage. I guess we'll get some in the Treehouse Live.

I feel like the shared joy-con multiplayer is a good enough reason to own this version, even if you bought Fifa on the other consoles.

Eh, at least they include Ultimate Team.

They didn't half-ass it. I'm genuinely impressed.

You don't know that.

Feel free to continue your pity party with someone else.

The screenshot they put out is REALLY ugly, and it's telling that they haven't released a real one, just one of a the switch off camera. That said I'm happy with what's included so long as the game looks good.

Too bad that it's not using the frostbite engine, which even the ps3 can handle... But since it's fifa on the switch, people will flock to buy it anyways

So many salty comments. Everyone, it sounds like they've put SOME console-specific effort into this. Let's just reserve judgement until the actual product is released, or more info is unveiled (yes I know the Wii U / FIFA 13 history...).

Look. I don't even like football, I just want EA to make an effort on Switch. It's selling, it's "trendy" and it's unique. If the actually want to, they can make a great FIFA game for it. A unique one. But at least try, EA!

If they do something really good, I might get it with friends who are football fans and we can go kick some ball here.

Agreed, all of your points are relatable. I'm for now, trying to remain optimistic that their SOLE project for Switch will at least have SOME effort put in (hopefully with Nintendo facilitating in some way) in order to gauge the system's software sales potential. Hopefully it's not like Wii U where all of their projects were half-baked and they used that as their litmus test on whether the console would be profitable. If it's just FIFA for now (which is fine), then at least develop it well and see how it stands on its own legs. Then, you can gauge the Switch's attachment rate and sales potential before going all in (and half baking everything as a result).

We'll see though.

It's like that "fool me once, fool me twice..." thing?

"Advanced rendering technology".

Oh yeah? Well, EA, you did surprise me some good at your event. Mostly Star Wars of course, but it"?'s like you almost care for us gamers. I'll give you one last chance with this to prove you are at least trying this time, but my salt-mine is ready for use.

Anyone think this will be a part of Nintendo's E3 Direct? I sure do.

That screen of the game doesn't give me confidence. If the game looked good, Im sure we'd see a real screenshot or two, instead of some lame pics of the switch, playing what looks like fifa. Lets see what you got, EA. Not interested in your crappy PR.

we should be familiar with ea's practice already. they did this with the wii version, by making it worst than the ps2 version even though the hardware for the wii is better and they did that with the wiiu version and make it worst than the ps3/xbox 360 version.

Sounds like your basic features. It's fifa, what else do people here want?

Ps3 and Xbox 360 are not so bad, I don't see the problem with ports from that gen. If anything Switch would be lucky to get more past gen tech ports (Persona, MGS, Dark Souls, GtA, etc.)

Forgive me if I'm skeptical. Some of us haven't forgotten how EA threw the Wii U under the bus all over some petty power play.

Why do people care if they're not even going to buy it on this system?

*sigh*...

We all want the Switch to succeed. A good FIFA game, and all good support, will help the Switch to succeed. I know many a people who didn't get a WiiU because it didn't get the latest 3rd parth games as FIFA. More support means more games. We all win.
