Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon - Global Missions Begin Anew

Global missions return with the launch of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon! The first global mission is now active: “Catch a lot of Pokémon!” The goal is for all Trainers to collectively catch 10,000,000 Pokémon by November 28, 2017. If the goal is reached, every participant will receive 2,000 Festival Coins as a reward. Even if the goal isn’t reached, everyone will get a participation prize of 1,000 Festival Coins. Trainers who have registered their game at the Pokémon Global Link by the end of the global mission will receive double the number of Festival Coins, so be sure to sign up today.

Start catching as many Pokémon as you can for the “Catch a lot of Pokémon!” global mission now!

All the cheating has caused the meaning of owning rare pokemon to mean nothing. I really hope the problem is resolved on switch.

In contrast, with each new game GameFreak has made it really easy to get your Pokemon to be competitive ready without needing to resort to hacks. I doubt the Pokemon Switch won't have this problem, but it really isn't that much big of a deal for the competitive scene.

Part of the reason why the first few global missions for Sun and Moon failed was that they launched after many had already completed the game - this plus the master ball promo makes me think there’ll be MUCH higher engagement from the get go this time around:
