Aaron Webber from SEGA’s social media and PR team shared some news about Team Sonic Racing, which got its official reveal last week. You can check out a summary of the info below.

- the game will be playable at E3, and more footage is coming soon
- the game has been in the works for a while
- the game will be “very, very different” and will have “very interesting mechanics” when compared to other Sonic racing games
- there will be more Sonic characters than in any of the past racing titles done with Sumo Digital
- “Maybe there are some characters you have yet to see and play as that you haven’t been able to play as in a long time.”
- voiced dialog will be featured

Webber also revealed the reasoning as to why Sonic is racing in a car, rather than on-foot.

“So we’re going to set the record straight just in case. If he’s not in a car guys, the race is over before it’s begun. You know this. You know he’s fast. He’s faster than cars, so we gotta equalize the playing field. So please, spread the word if you see anyone curious why he’s in a car, there you go.”
