- revenue hit $43.4 billion
- this up 17 percent from 2017’s $36.9 billion, and is a record year for the industry
- software sales made up $35.8 billion of that 2018 total
- hardware and peripherals earned $7.5 billion

Wow, good on you Super Mario Party.
Also I feel bad, I remember when Mon Hun World was #1 for months. Still impressive its in the top 10. Gen Ultimate on the other hand....

I wonder how much higher Pokemon would be with the sales of Eevee added. I don't doubt it would be impressive.

Smash outselling Spiderman is crazy (even if was a close margin). The difference in install base alone, added with the three month head start that Spiderman got, not many big games on PS4 last year, hype from the Spiderman movie, high quality dev, etc. I’d say it’s a bigger deal that it outsold GOW (my personal GOTY). 8 month head start, addition of New Game+, high accolades, etc. Wow!
