This game hurts nobody and yet it seems like people are genuinely upset to see this. People who want to buy it can buy it. I'm certainly not going to buy it and you don't have to either.

Damn another one!? I thought SEGA lost the Olympics license? I guess they renewed it. I may pick it up way down the line when its dirt cheap..

Too bad that they seem to have picked up the license again because dirt cheap is what those games are worth .

I picked up the first game because it was a novelty to have Mario and Sonic together. But I don’t waste my money on mini game crap fests anymore.

I only ever got one as a gift and yeah, they can be a bit of fun but the fun wears down pretty fast.

I'm surprised too. I thought the series was dead for sure. It kind of makes sense that they would bring it back since the Switch is perfect for that style of game.

It’s good that Sonic is wearing a shirt but put some damn pants on, boy.

I was just thinking they should bring this series back for Switch.

If they're recycling the Camelot models then we might see characters like Pauline and Kamek in this one. Some classic Sonic characters would be pretty sweet too.

I had a feeling they'd do one this time, especially since Mario himself is going to be a mascot of the actual Tokyo Olympics (he was the one who hyped up Tokyo at the Rio closing ceremony, after all). I imagine there'll be some cross-promotion at the event itself, too.

Why does this crossover even exist? I mean I get that they wanted to do something different but seriously, just why?

Can't we get a true crossover game like Mario X Sonic for once instead of this?

It exists because it sells. Obviously there are people who like these games.

But I agree on the Mario vs/x Sonic though. Just imagine a 2D platformer that mixes the two in some damn smart way. Perhaps a co.op-ish game.... Oh man. The 90's' console wars would spin in their grave Smile

They tried. Nintendo and SEGA couldn't figure out how to put together Mario and Sonic to respect both franchises (since Mario is a travel the levels to save Peach platformer and Sonic is save the world from Dr. Eggman by using either super speed, the Chaos Emeralds, or having his friends help him to defeat Eggman.

Then Nintendo and SEGA came to an agreement that for this collab to work, it would have to be in a spinoff and a human event became the focal point (since Nintendo allowed this collab on the basis the old Super Mario cartoons and NoA's story had Mario and Luigi hail from Brooklyn, New York before NCL overruled NOA and forced them to accept NCL's canon) and Sonic visited the human world through the Sonic X anime.

That quick second of beach volleyball reminded me of Beach Spikers on Gamecube. That game wasn't bad at all. Not that I'm expecting it to be like Beach Spikers, of course.

The Sonic & Mario version looks decent graphically, like the Wii U version. But the official version, some of the graphics in that are so basic. It looks like a Gamecube game at times.

Nintendo never polishes graphics until the 11th hour (they do this toward the end of game development). SEGA probably had to concede to Nintendo to do the same and not do any graphics polishing until the 11th hour before the game's release.

I find it hilarious that Mario didn’t bother to attend for the mobile version. :D
Sonic has to go alone to the Mobile Olympics.

Looking forward to this. I enjoyed Mario & Sonic at Rio for WiiU. Rugby alone was worth it and as good as standalone Mario Sports Games.
