Japan - Day 1 sales for Assassin's Creed III Remastered, Resident Evil: Origins Collection, Team Sonic Racing, and more

Disappointment all around

Time for another day-one sales data round-up for Japan! Check out the breakdowns for Assassin's Creed III Remastered, Resident Evil: Origins Collection, Team Sonic Racing, and Minna no Doubutsu Shogi below.

[PS4] [NSW] Assassin’s Creed III Remastered (Ubisoft) – 20%. Unexpectedly, sales are quite low

[NSW] Resident Evil: Origins Collection (Capcom) – 10%. Extremely poor debut, even for the late port of remasters, but not too surprising for a bundle with only one game on the cartridge

[NSW] [PS4] Team Sonic Racing (Sega) – 20-30%. Poor debut, especially as sell-through ratio is based on 3 days of sales

[NSW] Minna no Doubutsu Shogi (SilverStar) – No sell-through ratio provided, which is definitely not a good sign.

Are we just ignoring the [PS4] component?

Japan doesn't like late ports, the first two aren't surprising at all.

Well that sucks, eh? But seriously! I mean the ports are obvious. RE as written inthe artcle that has just one game on the cart and most people, even Wii U owners, have played AScreed 3 by now (no, not me. I might look into it one day).

Sonic Racing? If it was a new All-Stars Transformed game I would be all over this one, but it looks kinda ... njeeh from the videos I've seen. I mean, the "tam" part looks OK and all, but...njeeeh. Guess the Japanese agree on that one.

But hey, kiddos! E3 is closing in =)

AC3 is arguably one of the worst in the series. If the Ezio Collection was released I’d definitely pick that up on Switch.

Not surprised at Sonic Racing's debut. The game is a downgrade all around from the previous All Stars Transformed, plus it's up against Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is a better game in literally every conceivable way.

This should come as a surprise to nobody. 3rd party games generally tank on Switch in Japan. This is just further proof.

It's obvious the game isn't doing that good at all from what's been shown so far.

This is a Nintendo site and I don't care about PS4. This thing happens every other week in Japan with Switch. Next week it'll be these games, this week it was the turn of Guilty Gear 20th Anniversary Pack.

It's great for Nintendo and their 1st party titles, but 3rd party sales stink. The stereotype about Nintendo fans not buying 3rd party games is alive and well in Japan.

The RE ports are obvious. They are wayy too overpriced with little to no enhancements/Switch specific things. I bet they go on sale next month.

NOt to mention those RE ports are poor too, not running too well on Switch and having horrendous load times that even the Gamecube originals would be ashamed of. If the Japanese media covered the negative aspects of it, it will likely have affected sales.
