Devil May Cry hitting Switch in NA/EU on June 25th, 2019, priced at $20

Wallet may cry

We got a hint of this information yesterday with news of the Japanese release, but now it's official. The North American/European release date for Devil May Cry has been confirmed, and it's set for launch on June 25th, 2019. More importantly, the game is going to be priced at $20, which seems pretty damn outrageous. We all saw it coming, but it's still a tough pill to swallow.

$20 sounds perfectly fair

It's actually not for Switch owners, because the HD Collection is already on PS4, XBone, and Steam, has the first three games, and is priced at $30 for the entire package. If they wanted to be fair, they would have priced this at $10, along with the future titles.

Sounds great, day one buy for me. Never got into this series before but $20 sounds perfectly fair considering Okami and Onimusha. If it was $40 I’d definitely not go forward with with, but for a series totally alien to Nintendo systems due to aiming for an entirely different audience I’m giving it a go on Switch.

Sigh... it's the Mass Effect situation all over again...

The price is far from fair when you can buy the HD Collection on PS4 physically for the same price here in Europe. So that's 3 games for the price of 1 that you physically own, versus one game on Switch that's only available as a digital download.

Would have been nice to have the whole trilogy on cart. But as it is, I'll probably buy it. $15 would have been a better price, so maybe I'll wait for a sale.

I suppose Capcom logic is that if players are already buying PS2 HD remasters for 20 bucks like Okami and Onimusha, DMC shall cost the same.

$20 isn’t horrible. Not great, but horrible. I’ll just wait for DMC3. It’s the best one and the only one that is worth $20 alone.

Maybe I buy it when it's on sale.

This might be a buy if/when it goes on sale for $15 -- which will happen since Capcom periodically drops prices on its games.
