GoNintendo Video - Nintendo Switch Lite HOT TAKE!

Straight from the top of my dome

Rumor not more, my friends! The Switch Lite is the real deal, and was surprise-revealed by Nintendo earlier today. The system is real, and it's coming out Sept. 20th, 2019. The system's cheaper price comes with some design concessions, but were they worth it?

Agreed. I really dont understand the outrage especially from people on here. Everyone on this site Im sure already has a Switch. Why do you need a portable only version? You dont so why complain? Its for people who cant afford $300 or dont care about home console gaming in the slightest OR multiplatform owners who would have no need for a home console Switch as lets be honest here if you own a Xbox/PS4 your most likely not buying 3rd party games on Switch anyway and just want to play Nintendo's latest titles.

OPTIONS ARE ALWAYS A GOOD THING! I wish Nintendo fans/fanboys would understand that.

You summed up a lot of my pros and cons on the new handheld only Switch Lite. I'm glad they listened to their data but I'm disappointed with a lot of it and don't really see a personal need for it at this point. Thanks for staying awake.

I think it's really great that this exists as an option. I know most of us won't get one, and that's fine. It's for the people who don't have one yet as a more appealing cheap option.

Completely agree. It’s like a 2DS. Cheaper, less features and not targeted at me. I don’t get the hate, especially when people hating already have a Switch and also when Nintendo isn’t removing the regular Switch.

I'm fine with this existing the same way I'm fine with Labo existing. I think they're kinda dumb but I don't feel like I'm missing out but passing on them. Great for the target audience.

What I'm very glad for is that there isn't a "pro" Switch yet. I don't feel like I've had Switch for very long and I'm not ready to spend money on an upgrade. Maybe in a year or two I will be.

This console exists for one reason: to sell Pokémon games to children. Also, was it a coincidence they announced it on the anniversary of Iwata's death? He did have a lot of input into the development of the original Switch.

I never thought this was going to happen, but as I see it now it looks really cool and appealing (to those that do not own a switch or don't care about playing on the TV or local [couch] multiplayer).

I might get one for my girlfriend in the long run so we can play the now old MHGen on switch as we might never get a new release on switch. I have been wishing for a MH game with local multiplayer so we don't have to spend on multiple games/consoles but this looks like the "cheapest option".
