Marvelous decided to make Rune Factory 5 for Switch after the system's sales started to pick up

Rune Factory 5 is in development for Switch, but there was a point in time where the team didn't know where they were going to bring the game. In an interview with Marvelous Games, we find out that development on the project couldn't move ahead because the team wasn't sure what platform to support. Once they saw that the Switch install base was rapidly increasing, they decided to lock in Switch as the target platform.
