Afterparty is about two recently-deceased friends who find themselves stuck in Hell, and the only way out is to challenge the Devil himself to a drinking game. It's a pretty zany idea, and one that's going to be filled with all kinds of debauchery and heavy topics. According to an L.A. Times interview with Night School Studios' Sean Krankel, the goal of Afterparty was to create something that felt like a Pixar experience, but squarely aimed at adults.

“Post-'Oxenfree,’ we thought, ‘Why not do some crazy world-building?’ In ‘Oxenfree,’ the world is pretty real and the events are not. In ‘Afterparty,’ the events and the world are just insane. There are aspects of it that are grounded because you still need to be connected at a human level, but we thought, ‘Can we make an R-rated Pixar world?’”
