Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is heading to Switch in late October, and it's mostly a straightforward port of the original game, albeit with revamped graphics and a few tweaks. That said, today's rumor points to the addition of a major secret playable character. This information comes from the list of Xbox Achievements for the game, which SEGA has not confirmed at this time. With that said, only hit the jump if you want a potential major reveal spoiled.

According to the Xbox Achievements list, none other than Sonic the Hedgehog will be playable. Will he be trapped in a ball as well, or will Sonic be allowed to run free? Perhaps he'll be locked into his rolling form, sans ball! Who knows what the case will be, but seeing Sonic in the series certainly is a surprising turn of events!
