Today, the final episode of the Inazuma Eleven: Orion no Kokuin anime aired in Japan. The big disappointing factor is that the Inazuma Eleven Ares game hasn't been released yet. Akihiro Hino, the CEO of Level-5, has recognized this in a Japanese blog post.

As mentioned in December 2018, Level-5 relied on an external studio for the development of Inazuma Eleven Ares. While a great part was still being made in-house, the structure created problems nonetheless. This has caused Level-5 to move work in-house fully, and review various aspects of the game including match play.

In today's announcement, Hino has revealed that the game we know as Inazuma Eleven Ares is no more. Instead, the title will live on as Inazuma Eleven Heroes: Great Road. It will still offer Ares related story offerings, but the game now also includes an ''Alpha Episode''. This inclusion will bring back characters from the older Inazuma Eleven series.

Interestingly, Hino has referred to Great Road as a brand new game. In addition, the game will now be coming out in Spring 2020. Hino promised that players will get to enjoy a high degree of freedom, and can use the controller to position players on the field. It will be a brand new kind of Role Playing Game, where players can gather athletes and take part is various matches. Great Road will offer a deep online experience, even allowing for national tournaments to be held.
