SteamWorld Quest gets a Physical Release on the Switch via Super Rare Games

Super Rare Games today have announced their partnership with Image & Form Games and Thunderful Publishing to physically release Steamworld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech for the Nintendo Switch™. Pre-orders for the game open on November the 7th, exclusively at superraregames.com.

Interestingly, the game was signed in a rather unique way to that of a traditional deal. CEO of Image & Form, Brjann Sigurgeirsson met Super Rare Games’ George Perkins over a game of chess.

“We had just released the Mutant Mudds Collection with Jools Watsham and we were on a call catching up. During the call I mentioned that I had been playing a lot of chess recently, to which Jools mentioned that Brjann was the man to beat. From there I added him as a friend on an online chess website and the rest is history.” said George Perkins.

“I jokingly mentioned that if I beat him he would have to sign with us to release SteamWorld Quest physically! I got beat very, very badly but luckily we still managed to sign the deal. I hope we can bring the rest of the amazing SteamWorld series as a physical release in the near future’.
