Yuji Naka still isn't happy with Sonic's eyes in the movie redesign

Yuji Naka has shared some kind words on Sonic's redesign for the upcoming movie, but he's still not sold on all aspects. Naka took to Twitter to share his one complaint about the new look.
"This is the new trailer with Sonic’s new design. The design is much more Sonic-like now that he’s wearing gloves. However, his eyes still aren’t joined together, as expected. I can’t help but feel weird about that one point. But I’m looking forward to the movie’s release."
I have to admit, while Sonic's classic design does have one giant eye, I really don't mind the separated look. It's not such a huge change that it makes Sonic look weird, at least in my opinion. How do you guys feel?
