Dear Reader:
Japanese hardware/software sales for Dec. 30th, 2019 to Jan. 12th, 2020
Japanese sales data has been released for the first two weeks of January. As Famitsu gets back into the swing of things, this should be the only week of combined sales. Overall, the last two weeks have been pretty slow. With the holiday rush dying down, there isn't quite as many people picking up Switch games. The total numbers for the first two weeks of January are similar to that of the last week of December. Pokemon Sword and Shield have kept the #1 sales position since it's launch in November, with no sign of it stopping anytime soon. 268,620 more units have been moved since the new year. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe moves up 3 positions, taking the #2 spot. 66,295 more people have entered the racing fun in 2020. In terms of hardware, Nintendo Switch has sold 252,776 more units, while Switch Lite has sold another 148,352. Check out the full sales data below!
