There's not a lot of dating going on right now due to the pandemic. People are following suggestions and staying locked up at home for the time being. That doesn't mean people aren't looking for love, though. They're bouncing around on Tinder to find their next fling, and for now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is providing a way for couples to virtually meet.

Tinder has seen an uptick in profiles mentioning Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and numerous users have reported that they're both talking with more people, and seeing more right swipes on their accounts due to the game. Those same people are also putting together virtual dates in New Horizons, which certainly seems less scary than a real-life first date! While it's obviously not the same as an in-person meeting, connecting in Animal Crossing still provides the experience of getting dressed up and figuring out what you're going to say when you meet.

Will the Animal Crossing connection still continue after the pandemic is over? That's tough to say, but the important part is that the game is providing a unique way to experience connections for the time being.
