Dear Reader:
Monolith shares a few tiny tidbits about their next project
We've known for awhile now that Monolith Soft is working on something new, but they haven't shared what that project is. While they're still remaining tight-lipped on those details, Monolith Soft's Tetsuya Takahashi did open up ever so slightly about what the company has coming next. Here's the info he shared in this week's Famitsu interview.
- Production Group 1 handled Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, and is also working on the new game
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition's Future Connected epilogue could have been longer if offered as DLC, but that would have taken away team resources from the new game
- planning for the new game started right after the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- Monolith Soft presented the idea for their new game to Nintendo back in May 2018
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and the new game both went into full production after Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country, which would have been Aug. 2018
