Big play from EA

Just last week, EA revealed that they have 7 titles lined up for the Switch in the next 12 months. That includes Burnout Paradise; Remastered, FIFA 21, Apex Legends, Lost in Random, and 3 other unnamed games. This is a stark difference from EA's previous output on Switch, which gave us two games per year at most. Why the big change of heart? According to a GamesIndustry interview with EA studios boss Laura Miele, the answer is two-fold.

"We want players to be able to play our games where they want to, which is why we're bringing more games to more platforms including Stadia, Steam, Switch and Epic Game Store. We're also making a big push on cross-play, because we know a fundamental motivation in playing games is about connecting with friends and family who may choose to play on a different console or platform. The ecosystem in which we are operating has changed for the better, and we want to be everywhere players are."

While Apex Legends includes cross-play, you have to wonder if other upcoming EA titles are going to do the same for Switch. Again, there are 3 games we still don't know about, so the potential is definitely there.
