The frequency of the term “Orwellian” has skyrocketed in the last 12 months with very few correct usages. Your comment is one such example.
Lockdowns exist because so many dumb selfish people can’t follow simple guidelines to protect themselves and others and minimise viral transmission. The people that cry about lockdowns are the very reason we have them.
And for the most part, you’re not even in strict lockdown. New Zealand was in strict lockdown and have had a total of less 2,000 cases. BuT tHeiR pOpUlAtiOn.... yeah Ireland has a similar population and have had more cases, every day last week, than New Zealand has had in 12 months. Right now, if you’re in Europe, Canada or U.S., you’re mildly inconvenienced, for the second or third time. Why? Because that first minor inconvenience back in March/April was too much for you to handle and people clamoured for restrictions to ease and the cycle continued and only create further damage to public health, education, economy, and businesses.
A fine is justified. A kick in the head would be even better.
