RUMOR: Star Wars: Republic Commando heading to Switch

Most impressive

Star Wars: Republic Commando was a tactical first-person shooter that launched back on the original Xbox and PC back in 2005. Rumor has it the game is making a return, and it's heading to Switch.

Dataminers are reporting that a version of the game has been uploaded to Nintendo's servers as of today, complete with the icon you see above. Aspyr is tied to the title, which makes a lot of sense, as they've re-released other classic Star Wars games on Switch.

If the game has already been uploaded to Nintendo's servers, you'd imagine that a release date is right around the corner. We'll just have to hang tight and wait for Aspyr to officially spill the beans.

So playing Republic Commando while in public and going commando can now be a thing!

Having read the above information, I would say this is as good as confirmed.

It's really nice they are porting a lot of these old games. I just hope Switch 2 and systems after retain BC so then these games will forever be accessible on modern consoles.

I’ve always associated Aspyr with MacOS ports. They’ve historically handled the Max versions of the Civilization series.

They’ve always been competent developers from my experience so I’d expect these ports to be on-par with other releases.

I loved this game when it came out, but was way too short. Hope they fix the normal map / bump issue it had after pc drivers updated (if it's true)
