PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for Switch gets a Spyro edition

Now that's a pretty controller

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is making its way to Switch this year, and PowerA wants to make sure they cash in with a Spyro-themed version of their Enhanced Wireless Controller. This is the same controller that PowerA has been offering for awhile, but with a Spyro design. You can preorder yours here.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy's eShop listing says 15 GB is required

Yet another wrinkle in the story

Just yesterday we were trying to make sense of the file size for Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Switch, and today brings us new information that might clear things up a tad. According to Nintendo.com, the game will require 6.3 GB of space, but the eShop listing itself mentions 15.4 GB. That 15.4 GB seems to make a lot more sense, especially considering talk of a day-one update that'll be included.

Unfortunately, we still don't know what this means for the retail release. You'd think Activision would just come out and clear up this mess, instead of letting all kinds of numbers float around in the ether.

No one knows whether the physical version of Spyro Reignited Trilogy requires a download or not

This shouldn't be so complicated

This whole situation has become a mess, and the confusion has only grown since the initial reveal.

Will the physical version of Spyro Reignited Trilogy require a download? It all depends on what retailer you look at. Some online stores feature cover art that state a download is required. Others have a version of the cover that doesn't make mention of a download. The situation is different depending on what region of the world you're looking at as well. Some retailers make it seem like the North American version will require a download, but the European version will not.

The only thing we know for a fact is what we posted earlier today. Nintendo.com has Spyro Reignited Trilogy listed as taking up 6.3 GB. It would be pretty crazy for all three games to fit into that file size, considering how the PS4 version took up nearly 70 GB when all was said and done. Will there be a supplemental download for the eShop version outside of the 6.3 GB mentioned? Hopefully we find out all these details before Sept. 2nd, 2019, which is when the game launches.

Thanks to operationgamer17 for the heads up!

Spyro Reignited Trilogy available to preload, file size listed as 6.3 GB

Is it really that small?

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming out Sept. 2nd, 2019 on Switch, and it's now available to preload. Believe it or not, the file size is listed at 6.3 GB, which seems absolutely crazy. The same trilogy over on PS4 took up 67.5 GB of space once day-one patches were applied. Either this Nintendo.com listing has the wrong information, or there's something very fishy going on here. Could they really squeeze all that data down into just 6.3 GB on Switch?

First 4 Figures Spyro Reignited statue sees preorders open Aug. 2nd, 2019

Looking good, Spyro

First 4 Figures is putting together a fancy Spyro statue that is based off the character's revamp for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. The statue will be available to preorder on Aug. 2nd, 2019, and there's sure to be multiple versions available. We'll post up all the info once First 4 Figures shares it.

Amazon Italy offering a unique preorder bonus for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Hold on, Spyro

Amazon Italy has a rather sizable preorder bonus for anyone who grabs the Switch version of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. As you can see, the purchase will come with a Spyro figurine that acts as a Switch holder. We've seen other figurines like this for the Switch in the past, but you'd think something like this would go beyond a preorder bonus and fall more into the special edition category!

Why does Spyro Reignited Trilogy's UK box lack a 'download required' label?

Mistake, or is everything included?

The Spyro Reignited Trilogy retail release here in the states requires a download to get all of the games in this package. That's why the game has a 'download required' label on the front of the box. Over in the UK, their version of the game box doesn't have that label. Does that mean a download isn't required for that version? That would certainly be hard to believe, but I guess stranger things have happened. It's more likely that this is an out-of-date cover, but we'll reach out to Activision for comment.

Thanks to OperationGamer17 for the heads up!

Spyro Reignited Trilogy's retail release requires a download

Anger reignited

We go from Witcher 3 looking like it'll include everything on the game card to Spyro Reignited Trilogy requiring a download with its physical version. The game box flat-out says a download is required, and the listing at Best Buy tells us what content isn't included on the game card.

*Spyro 2 Ripto's Rage! and Spyro Year of the Dragon require download via internet
