Yoshi's Island glitch from the SNES Classic Edition fixed in the Switch Online SNES Collection

Touch Fuzzy, Get Fixy

The SNES Classic included a bunch of great games, with Yoshi's Island being among the best. The port was nearly perfect, minus a graphical issue in the Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy level of the game. For whatever reason, every time you touched a Fuzzy, the background would go blank for just a second. That's not how it was on the original SNES version, and thankfully, that's now how it is on the Switch Online SNES Collection either. Check out the video above for a closer look!

Minecraft: Wii U Edition almost had a Yoshi horse skin

Giddy up

The Super Mario Mash-Up Pack DLC for Minecraft: Wii U Edition had some great content, but there were some items that didn't make the final cut. For example, that amazing/horrifying Yoshi horse skin that you see above. It's easy to understand why they didn't include it, but that just makes me wish they did even more!

RUMOR - Details on Super Nintendo World's "Yoshi Omnimover" ride

All aboard Yoshi!

Nintendo and Universal have been extremely tight-lipped on information about Super Nintendo World. The two companies are working together to build the theme park attraction in secret, barely sharing any information since the collaboration's original unveiling. That leaves us looking to theme park insiders to give us any information on what could be going down with the park's attractions.

The gang over at Orlando Park Stop seem to have gotten their hands on a slew of information about the Yoshi Omnimover Ride, which will be just one aspect of the Super Nintendo World plans. Of course, we can't vouch for this information, nor will Nintendo comment on whether the details are legitimate or not. Rather than feed you all the information here, we figured we'd share a link and let you dive in at your own risk. Again, please note that this is all rumor for now, and should be taken lightly. Check out the rundown of details here.

Yoshi's Crafted World is doing quite well for itself in Germany. The title has has won the Gold Sales Award, which a game gets for selling over 100,000 copies. It looks like the game has some legs too, so it might be getting another sales award a bit later in the year!

Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe likes Luigi more than Mario, ponders the idea of Waluigi's Mansion, and contemplates 'Wayoshi'

What the HELL is going on!?

Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe is a fan of Luigi, and he wants to see the guy overtake Mario as far as popularity. In an interview with Game Informer, Tanabe talks about his love of Luigi, the idea of Waluigi's Mansion, and the potential for Wayoshi.

GI: Would you like to see Luigi in more games?

KT: I would love to see Luigi get to a point where he rivals Mario. I'm constantly pestering Nintendo with ideas for how to bring out Luigi more to make him surpass Mario. I like Luigi more. I kind of prefer a flawed human compared to this superstar hero.

GI: How do you feel about Waluigi then?

KT: Waluigi is something that I’m not in charge of, so that’s hard to say. Are you saying that Waluigi and Luigi should team up? He tends to appear in games where Wario appears. I guess we'd have to make a Waluigi mansion for that.

GI: I know we’re off track, but since there is a Wario and a Waluigi, is there also a Wayoshi? Has there ever been talks in the office of making a Wayoshi?

KT: Yoshi himself is everything, so I don’t know what that would be like. Maybe his eyes would be like meaner or something. Maybe he would eat stuff and then just spit it out entirely whole. Or would he would be like Birdo because Birdo shoot eggs from her mouth? Is Birdo Wayoshi? Maybe.

Game Freak looks back on the development of Yoshi and Pokemon Red/Blue

It was a simpler time

Game Freak's latest YouTube video takes a double-dip into Nintendo's earlier days. The video focuses on both the NES title Yoshi, and Pokemon Red/Blue. Check out a summary of the video's info below.

- items on Yoshi‘s main menu will move accordingly to the music, which was programmed by Masuda
- Ken Sugimori came up with the gameplay for Yoshi
- Game Freak wanted to add in a realistic sounding Yoshi voice, but it got turned down by Nintendo
- Masuda learned about the “wave” design of difficulty curve during the creation of this game
- wave design is where after a particularly hard stage, an easier stage comes after to let players bask in the accomplishment
- Masuda says developing and balancing them feels like taste-testing in cooking, where you can try it and tweak immediately
- for RPGs, the usage of time is different, as it takes maybe 3 hours before you really get into the groove
- Masuda remembers how shocked people were when finding out just how fast storage capacity limits would improve
- Masuda says there are some good things about having limited memory
- for example, if memory was infinite, devs would probably keep adding in new things and the game would never get done
- there were fun things that could be done thanks to memory limits
- this included thinking of Pokemon names that could be fit in the 5-character limit (in Japanese)
- in order to get the voices of the original 151 Pokemon done, Masuda had to use certain tricks in order for it to work
- Masuda says he would probably have been told off it he weren’t the main programmer on the game
