From 9am on 28 September, Waterloo Station, London and Manchester Piccadilly Station will play host to a giant Nintendo 3DS and StreetPass celebration. There will be loads to do for all Nintendo fans at the event including:

Real life StreetPass games

If you love StreetPass games, you'll be delighted when Nintendo bring StreetPass games to life with real Puzzle Swap panels. Luigi and Pokémon meet and greet

Love Luigi? A Luigi costume character will be available at the London Waterloo Station, location for meet and greet as well as photograph opportunities. Or maybe you are more of a Pokémon fan? Oshawott, Tepig & Snivy will be at the Manchester Piccadilly StreetPass event.

Across the country Nintendo 3DS owners will also be encouraged to take part in National StreetPass Day by throwing their own StreetPass events or heading to Nintendo Zone and The Cloud hotspots.

StreetPass Day stands will also be located at two other locations including Eurogamer Expo 2013, Earls Court, London where visitors can pick up a free Mario hat by showing their entry wristband or badge. The Cycle Show NEC Birmingham will also host Mario Kart 7 multiplayer races and Nintendo 3DS demos.

This year has seen new functionality and content on Nintendo 3DS, such as the Nintendo 3DS Image Share service which allows users to post images from games direct to their Twitter, Facebook or Tumblr accounts, and with a recent update, new content for StreetPass MiiPlaza, with additional StreetPass games including StreetPass Garden, StreetPass Squad, StreetPass Mansion and StreetPass Battle available to purchase as Add-On Content.

There has also been the addition of StreetPass Relay. When a Nintendo 3DS user gets near a StreetPass Relay Point and has the StreetPass feature enabled, it will automatically store their StreetPass data temporarily and then send it on to the next Nintendo 3DS user to visit that same location. This new service increases the chance to get special content for StreetPass-enabled games as well as up their StreetPass hits, collect Puzzle Pieces and progress through their favourite StreetPass games.

Nintendo's StreetPass Day celebration will take place all day at Waterloo Station, London and at Manchester Piccadilly on 28th September 2013. Check Nintendo Facebook and Twitter channels for more details.

StreetPass NYC Invites all Animal Crossing New Leaf Mayors to a Movie Night at Bryant Park

Jul. 3, 2013 - NEW YORK -- StreetPass NYC, a popular grassroots Nintendo 3DS fan club in New York City, invites all Nintendo fans in the New York Metro Area to our third "Conference of Mayors" meeting; an unofficial Animal Crossing New Leaf meet up to exchange house patterns via StreetPass, trade items, and explore New York City's parks and social hot spots for outdoors adventuring!

On Monday, July 8th we invite all Animal Crossing fans to the Lawn Area (the lawn and surrounding gravel area) of Bryant Park at 42nd Street and 6th Avenue (enter from the 6th Avenue side of the park) from 4:00pm to 11:00pm.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf mayors will enter a world of pure imagination as they enjoy a screening of "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory" (1971, 98 minutes, Warner Bros.). This adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" stars Gene Wilder as the eccentric genius Willy Wonka, who leads five lucky children on a magical tour of his candy palace. The film is regarded as a cult classic, and ensures a scrumdiddlyumptious time for viewers of all ages. "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is part of the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival, an annual series of free, outdoor public film screenings that celebrates "stars under the stars".

The gravel area surrounding the lawn will open at 4:00pm, while the lawn opens at 5:00pm, allowing Animal Crossing: New Leaf mayors to mingle in each other's towns and enjoy some picnicking until the film begins at sunset. Look for the StreetPass NYC flag (pictured on our blog) to find our main camping spot inside the park lawn for the screening.

For the protection of all Film Festival attendees, all bags, briefcases, backpacks, etc. will be inspected before entering the Lawn Area (should you leave the lawn area, all packages will inspected again upon re-entry). Wheelchair access to the Lawn Area is accessible through the ramps at the eastern end of the lawn, at both 40th and 42nd Street.
