That was Matt Casamassina’s answer a reader asking why there was no Revolution channel over at IGN. Basically IGN said they wouldn’t be making a Revolution channel on their site until Nintendo came out with the official name of the Revolution. Yet here I am reporting that IGN has just opened a channel for Nintendo’s next console….Revolution.ign.com.

Did IGN just bite the bullet and decide to make the site? Maybe it was all the pressure from Nintendo fans…surely there was enough information to fill up a Revolution channel. Or perhaps IGN is privy to some information that we aren’t.

I have NO idea why IGN didn’t make this channel months ago. This channel should have been up weeks before the TGS, the show in which IGN (and all major press publications) knew that the Revolution controller would be shown. It doesn’t make any sense to me.
