Japan - Super Mario 3D Land comes with firmware update

Super Mario 3D Land is jam-packed with all sorts of secrets, isn't it?! First we find out about the digital instruction booklet, and now we learn of a firmware upgrade packed onto the cart. Here are the details for that update.

- adds a button to your friend list that allows you to join a friend's game in progress
- adds a modification to the console's ability to play flashcarts

No word on whether the update will be included in North American/European copies of the games. Thanks to Steel Diver for the heads up!
