EVERYBODY'S EXCITED WITH FOLDERS!!!

And yay for MK7 patch (now if they can only add in a single-player VS. for commutes without Wi-Fi access dammit!). And I have my reservations with NSMB2. I hope those screenshots aren't doing the game justice.

New Super Mario Bros. 2

I love you, Iwata.

ugh, i've had enough of nsmb for a while. Would have rather had a 3ds land sequel.

Project X looks like your regular 2D fighting game with some old school beat-em up elements. I'm pretty disappointed. Why must every company mash up game be either a 2D fighter, or something silly like Mario and Sonic Olympics?

This was a rather nice Nintendo direct. And yay for folders. NSMB2 has got me excited.

NSMB...snore fest, but 10 million+ more 3DS sales this year guaranteed.
AC, woot.

Folders, good.

Probably the only one pining for a browser update, since I run a 3DS browser site. It'd be nice if the browser supported things that even the DSi one did, like the. toDaraURL() method...

F*** YEAH. NO MORE OF THIS GLITCH IN MK7. Finally proves that the 3DS games are patchable. XD
Mmm. New super Mario Bros 2 announced. Nice.
I 'm loving the Kirby compilation disc.
Good news all around. XD

and really, how spoiled have you all become? we already have super mario 3d land. so why the complaining? if you dont like nsmb style games, play 3d land. its not like you dont have another quality mario game to fall back on..

I think the point is it's uninspired bland art style, I'm sure it will look "good" graphically... but I feel like a 2D mario will never look as good as say Super Mario World...it's lost the charm... and I suppose that's subjective but to me this game looks like something they effortlessly whipped up...another uninspired mario game that will be no where as unique as SM3DL was to the series and its a shame since I do like 2d platformers more.

I'd have rather a new game entirely. but c'est la vie, this is what nintendo is doing to satisfy their stockholders. it's quick, easy, will sell buckets of copies. that's what they want. and I'll be shocked if we see any really big budget games out of nintendo this upcoming generation.

it's a strategy rpg. not a fighter. those were just attack animations.

Oh and Project X Zone looks insane, it must be localized!
User avatar

@gtt

Eh, it might as well be called a fighter, considering the gameplay is like one (versus a strategy RPG) and due to the fact that you can play it as a straight up action game, according to Takahiro Sakurai. http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=175755

I'm very excited for NSMB2. I can't wait to use the Raccoon suit again! My only problem with the art style is that there aren't enough eyes on things. I just hope it is at least as or more difficult as the Wii version. NSMB for DS was incredibly easy.

I am also kind of excited for the Pokedex update as long as it means there will be Pokemon from previous generations instead of just the mostly lame Black and White Pokemon.

I'm glad they are going to fix that damn Maka Wuhu glitch on Mario Kart, that almost ruined the multiplayer for me. Every time I get online like 5 people will pick it every race. I don't know how even cheaters could even think it's fun, especially when half the people are doing the exact same thing.

I don't really care much about the folders, but I guess it's OK. I would have rather gotten folders in Swapnote (as well as several other updates to Swapnote.) Also, I was kind of hoping they might announce Flipnote Studio for 3DS.

agreed. its's a shame because it's a really fun track. if you don't take the shortcut you're basically playing mario kart single player, so i end up just stopping. dissapointing to say the least.
anyway, the patch is great news. thanks for listening nintendo :)

BEST NINTENDO DIRECT YET! =D

SO HAPPY ABOUT FOLDERS! my 3ds screen is so cluttered it looks ugly. YAYYAYAYAYAYA. But one thing I wish it had was the ability to make your own icon pictures and take the pictures from say the sd card of 3ds camera. Showing 1 character only is kind of ugly and plain for the 3ds menu. But this is trivial. I'll probably just use 1,2,3,4....

edit: my gahhh i haven't been this positive with nintendo in a while but they are finally getting it! I hated maka wuhu but now that its getting patch THANK YOU! i will play the game again just because of this.

Woo folders!

New Super Mario Bros. 2? What was NSMB Wii, chop liver or do they count it as NSMB 1.5?

Good news about the patching and folders. Should have been there already, but better late than never.

NSMB2 is a good move for Nintendo. Should sell boatloads. I'm a bit meh about it though. These NSMB games are cookie cutter blah. I'd be more excited if it was a sequel to Super Mario 2.

I feel really bad for Metroid. Anniversary stuff for Mario, Zelda and Kirby?! but no Metroid.

I love you, Samus, even if Nintendo doesn't.

- If NSMB2 is what we're getting INSTEAD of a NSMBM, then color me excited. I don't want NSMB to be the flagship Wii U title or anything that looks as bland.

However, I am totally down with it being a 3DS game. It also means you can probably play Luigi in single player. Which means I am sold.

- Stoked for Kirby collection because I actually own little-to-no Kirby games, despite being a big fan. Depending on what's on it, I may have to buy it. Even if it is a disc of ROMs. Hopefully it isn't just Kirby's Super Star *cough*SuperMarioAll-Stars*cough*

- Excited for Animal Crossing.

- Not excited about the Pokedex being paid content now. Vaguely excited for the AR thing.

spoiler alert: it's a disc of roms. maybe with a documentary or something on there.

Perhaps NSMB2 could be the same game as in Wii U and they would be compatible or/and slightly different in collect them all fashion. This, in addition to Four Swords, would be my main "separate screen for each player" dream, so this could be way to go a round of possible technical restrictions of the Wii U's tablet.

A race mode! The separate screens would allow a multiplayer mode, where players hurdle through all the unlocked levels and:

I'd like a level editor. This is where the stylus could be put into a good use. You could either draw entire levels, or the tiles that you could build the level with, and these could be used at least in the racing mode, or even weaved together as mini adventures.

I hope that some day the NSMB series would go to Mario World(4) style both structurally and artistically. Also the cape > tail(I mean gameplay wise, as a character the raccoon Mario is fantastic).
