either way, the sprites, regardless if they are black/white, color, moving/not moving, 8 bit/HD, has nothing to do with the actual battle system, aka gameplay. I agree, I would like a bit more realism in the presentation department, but it doesnt require changing the great formula of what makes pokemon battles so addicting today
Never played it, because I felt the Price tag didnt justify the content. But I dont find the Battle system addictive, not anymore, its always been more of the catching aspect that was addictive, and sometimes feels like a chore with random cave encounters now. Pokemon are a JRPG, and its been using the same formula for ages. I enjoyed B/W more than the last 2 Generations because they actually introduced more story into the games. I like that, but the Battle System is still meh.
they've done anime episodes for mystery dungeon and ranger series, but never directly for the mainstream games. the anime series in general uses only some content but not completely true to the games
This is only seemingly "awesome" and "what the anime should be" because it's 4 minutes of condensed action. You can do that of most of the major anime arcs, cutting the character development and everything and it'd be similar. Observe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCe5PWdu3m8

It is cool though :p
Yeah, but you must agree that the Team Rocket in Best Wishes are actually cool. It was, in fact, the only parts of the anime that I really liked. Ash redoing the SAME frelling mistakes he have already done countless times in the past series really irk me to the highest point, like throwing a frelling pokeball to an healthy pokemon without battling it at all. ¬_¬
Also, to come back to this short, even the designs of the characters seems more mature than the anime. Also, the pokemons not saying their names help to add to the tension. They are more beast-like. I really like when the hero's starter try to protect him from the Gym leader.
What Serebii said is kinda true, yes, but even so, I'd soo love to see the Anime like this. ^^ Well, it doesn't need to be that 'action and bad guys-filled', but the awesome animations would come in handy. Especially Emboar's beard~<3
Also, how awesome to see N and Cheren in anime-style~<3
jesse himself wrote:the production value seems to be a bit better here than with the tv series. if they were to make the series look like this it would cost them more money. with the amount of episodes they have to churn out i'm thinking that will never happen.
This guy gets it.

They were around in the game we have now. This is their second game.
Wouldn't mind a full anime series like this.
might get me back into watching Pokemon, as long as it isn't about Ash and his 18th journey across the 7th country he's been too
@Serebii
while that may be true, the scene with the arcanine vs seviper is rarely seen, if any at all in the anime. I would love to see a pokemon battle done that way instead of "Pikachu use thunderbolt! Pansage dodge! Use Solarbeam! Dodge it Pikachu!" back and forth.
also, I think seeing this trailer has showed just how badly veteran fans want ash gone.
If only that disaster didn't happen and we could have seen the banned episodes. Makes me think that's the reason we're having Best Wishes Season 2. To make up for the disaster practically halting the villain plot. Hoping the new season really brings the villains to top notch to match those promos of the banned episode.
The only thing I loved about the anime, is the fact that Team Rocket no longer kids around, I really cannot stand Ash anymore. He makes the same mistakes he's not supposed to do. It's like the writers have erased his past and that he didn't learn anything at ALL. Tbh, I want a new protagonist. -_-'
If there's one good thing about Ash still being an idiot, it's watching Pikachu get actively frustrated with him. His Gym Battle with Elesa was pretty funny in that regard...if only stuff like that would happen more often.
I think they plan the story much further in advanced than that, but it does make sense knowing that team plasma has yet to make any appearance yet, unless their only appearance in the first season was the canceled episodes.
Wow, that looked really good!

YES YES YES!!!
Now i'm even more hyped for the game. Even though the game wont be as epic as the trailer, it will be pretty darn good.
Really nice promo trailer. Even if the anime kept Ash but was done more in this style, it would be a big improvement.
I don't know what was going on in that trailer, but man was that cool.
What the...? That was randomly cool.
Wow, first Kid Icarus anime videos now a Pokemon anime trailer. Could Nintendo be starting a new trend for promoting their games?
(Or has pokemon been doing this for a while?)
Maybe these are cutscenes...
Just convert the Manga into Anime.
And you will have the most amazing anime of Pokemon in the history of history! xD

I seriously only read a synopsis of the manga, and they sound truly epic. This X 1000
Also, this is so badass and awesome... O_O

Seems a lot more serious that the usual pokémon stuff, seems more like your typical shonen anime now.
This will only be a JPN only special [sadly].
