Now the only thing I want to know if it‘s gonna be like Sonic Mega Collection and include unlockable games, if so, there would still be chance for spin-offs to be included.

@Pichu2010

@YF3

Me too!

They couldn't put ALttP on Zelda's Anniversary Disc since it was on GBA, but Kirby's on DS and they're putting it on Wii.

Then again, Metroid NES was on Prime, NES Classic AND they put it in Zero Mission at the same time. So I don't know what to think.

If there's an art booklet... I'm gonna freak. They can give us an artbook for Kirby but NOT translate Hyrule Historia which is 200 glorious pages of art, unseen concepts, quotes from Aonuma and other goodies? I would've bought it seperately for $30, what gives Nintendo?

Zelda never had an anniversary disc.
Alttp was originally released on the snes then ported to the gba
Kirby superstar was a snes game that was ported to the ds with some added features

Soundtrack and Booklet make this package very appealing. Calendar seems cool...

And yes, unlockable games would be ace. :)

What he was talking about was the Zelda Collectors Edition disc released on GameCube which had OoT, MM, TLoZ, AoL and the Wind Waker demo on it. They didn't put ALttP on it because it was just released on GBA a few months prior and they didn't want to take sales away from the rerelease of it. Also the ALttP port on GBA had added features as well (Four Swords).

- I meant Zelda Collector's Disc, which existed and had Zelda, Zelda 2, OoT, MM and a Wind Waker demo.
- I know what system ALttP originated on. Thanks for the assumption I didn't. The GBA version was out/being sold when the Zelda disc came out and that was why ALttP didn't make it to the disc.
- Again, I made no indication of not knowing where Super Star came from. I am just surprised they are putting it on the disc when the updated version is on DS, since they didn't put ALttP on the Zelda disc.

Lots of assumptions going around here. I played ALttP and Kirby Super Star on SNES.

I think the reason is because Super Star Ultra will be out for about 4 years when the Kirby collection comes out and Nintendo has moved on to their next handheld platform already. SSU is also most likely out of print. With the ALttP rerelease on the other hand the game was only a year old (less than a year old in Japan actually) and on a current platform. It was probably still selling fairly well at the time, and they didn't want to take sales away from it.

ALttP GBA port: December 2, 2002
Zelda Collector's Edition: November 17, 2003

Kirby Super Star Ultra: September 22, 2008
Kirby Anniversary Collection: September ??, 2012

@illuminatemyfate

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. It was just funny.

Also take into consideration the fact that people can buy these games on the Virtual Console, currently, so it's still kinda weird. And then add in that they're giving away Kirby's Super Star right now.

Though I imagine they know people aren't buying things on the Wii Shop Channel anymore. Even still, I am surprised (and excited) to see the Gameboy titles making the disc.
