Mark down another retailer that is seeing huge demand for the Wii U. Target is now sold out of the Deluxe bundle online. As of right now, the basic bundle is still available. I'm guessing that'll be gone soon! Thanks to all that sent this in!

Exactly, and im pretty sure that the market online is MUUUUUCHHH more prominent than it was back in 2006, so I can only see this whole Wii U out-of-stock situation getting worse.
I dont' want to pre-order online and then get it a week later in the mail.
I wonder if the gamestop in my town will sell out? I live in a really small town. I guess if it does I'll just wait, I want the Deluxe model but I can't preorder it right now because I have no money. -_- plus in November I've got College tuition to pay...Anyhow I'm surprised how fast this is selling out!
I'm happy for Nintendo and other Nintendo fans that the Wii U is selling out before launch, but damn, this is mind boggling fast. Granted, this is just the pre-orders and camp outs are gonna be done to get this machine, but I've never seen any kind of gaming hardware get snatched up so quickly.
To anyone worried about Gamestop pre-orders, its just 25 to pre-order the Wii U.
Only when you are subscribed to their reward program (power up I think), if not, it's 50$
I'm wondering if they're running out in the uk yet. I ordered mine from zavvi, they're the cheapest at £175 still too annoyed at shopto for joining the flock on this one. So despite the fact I would get £14 in shopto points back, I'll take £2 at zavvi and a £25 cash saving. Normally their pre orders are much quicker to get here than normal orders.
Does this mean Nintendo won't be able to keep up with production?

All of that combined for a mere $50 more.
i believe it represents the complete package most were looking for. alot of us were looking forward to Nintendo Land but mostly as something packed in. also having the charging station and stand is a bonus ($20 stand alone) so its just the icing on the cake.
Went out today looking to pre-order. What I found:
- There is no GameStop with one for the Deluxe. Email went out at 6 last night. They will however try to push the Basic onto you.
- Smaller Best Buy stores are not getting more than 3 consoles at best. I had to go to a bigger Best Buy that does a lot more sales before they would take my pre-order. The guy there said they were hoping to do a midnight launch if they got enough orders. I can see this potentially causing issues with fulfillment if one store knows the amount they're allowed and another is hoping to get a lot to do a midnight launch. I was told you can find where they are doing a midnight launch though online which is at least a positive.
- Toys R Us still had both available for pre-order, however could not give an actual date of the console coming in and were not doing a midnight launch because of that. This could be YMMV.
I didn't venture to any Targets or Walmart as Best Buy hooked me up. I can see some issues with fulfillment of Deluxe consoles if they continue to sell out at the rate we're seeing. I feel as though basic consoles will be on shelves, but while pre-ordering I did notice the sheet the guy was keeping track of things on had a white one pre-ordered. I give it two weeks before no one can make pre-orders at any store.
Preordering is not an option available to me
from what has been posted, gamestop as a whole had a set amount and once those were gone they sent word to all gamestops to stop taking pre-orders. i dont think individual gamestop stores had a set amount but i could be wrong.
You don't remember the Wii preorder situation then I take it? The Wii (and at the time, the PS3 as well) sold out on preorders way faster than the Wii U. I actually had to wait in line for 4 hours just to preorder a Wii. And even then, I barely made the cut. They had to turn away a ton of people, and some that were turned away were yelling that they would give anyone closer to the front of the line $100 on the spot for their place. It was madness.
The Wii U on the other hand, I just casually walked into the store late in the day and preordered one no problem.
the black one also includes Bragging Rights, and proof that we Deluxe buyers are superior human beings...all for a low price of $50
/jk...or am I?
