You know all that majorly nasty weather that's going to start pounding the East coast tonight? Turns out NYC is taking some major steps to keep people safe, and that includes Triforce.
Triforce has been waiting in line for the Wii U for a few days now, but his line-waiting has been suspended until the storm passes through. By 6 PM today, he'll have to leave the premises and hold off on coming back until the okay is given. Looks like he'll be living the good life for a few hours while we all ride out the storm!

Obviously he'll come back the moment the line is back. I'll be laughing if someone actually goes and gets there before him and sets up camp.
Thank god I'm in the west coast!
The fact he lists himself as a "Legendary Nintendo Gamer" and is part of a "Council of Gaming Legends" (what)... My face..
Anyway, this isn't really news. It's a guy standing on a line.
The whole publicity thing with it, though, ensures someone will probably try to get on that line before him when it is allowed again. As long as he doesn't tweet when he's allowed to return, he may be okay, haha.
EDIT: NEVERMIND.
Apparently NWS is reserving his 1st-in-line spot? Really? God forbid.
@Progamer
This kind of storm has literally only ever happened over here one other time (last year, if I am not mistaken). Assuming it's even the same when it comes near us.
Do people really care about this guy enough to warrant news stories about him?
Would be funny if someone got in front of him after the all clear was given, but if they actually reserved his place in line then there is no chance of that happening...
I'm in Texas so me and Retro Studios will just be over here hanging out
Btw, hope everything is all right on the east coast. Raise those flame shields and boost up your defense rating!
Wow. I would laugh so hard if someone takes his spot.
@GeneralDisorder
I hope that happens actually, so someone else should get the chance, since this guy has had his 5 minutes of fame.
There are posts on this site about Japanese games that we never have any chance of seeing and extremely inane videos, and this bothers you?
Yeah, it'd be real hilarious if this guy, who's spending his free time camped out for a system we all want, to be the first one to get it, got his spot taken due to a natural disaster that's coming his way. Gut-busting.
I laugh in the face of the broken and limping 'sandy'.
I guess I just don't get why this "gamer" deserves more attention than anyone else. Just because he has nothing else better to do than stand in a line? I have nothing against the guy; I don't even know him. Although, I don't understand the fascination people have over celebrities either...
I realize that was sarcasm, but come on, you would have to chuckle a little if that happened.
Little beknownst to Triforce is that I'm going to take his place once he's gone.
Someone please take his spot. I want to see some action.
Are you really questioning Triforce's "gamer" status? I don't really have to argue with someone over if he's a real gamer or not. He is a gamer to the core so much so that he might have autism. So he wants to be the first one in THE WORLD to get the new Nintendo console. Is there anything wrong with that?
And YOU would have to groan and whine if you had to evacuate for a hurricane and your spot got stolen.
I never questioned whether he was a gamer or not. I said I consider him just like any other gamer, and nothing more. Like I said, what makes him any more special than you or me? No, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be first. Good for him. I'm sure there are many other gamers that are first in line for various things that don't get any attention at all, so again, I don't consider him special enough to warrant news coverage. He is just a normal gamer who sits in a line...
Well, my spot would never get stolen since I would never wait in line for anything a day in advance, let alone a month in advance, so the point is moot.
Again, let me clarify that I have nothing against the guy. I just don't understand why some people care about him so much. That is all...
You put "gamer" in quotes, so I was making sure you weren't trying to put your foot in your mouth.
What makes him more special is that he's made it a point to wait in line to be first for a system numerous times. He's in the community. HIS NAME IS TRIFORCE. This guy goes out of his way to make himself "more special than you or me." If anyone has a problem with him, they're probably just annoyed that he's more of a superfan of something than they are.
He'll be the first one in the first territory to get the Wii U at retail. Wanting to follow him a little bit isn't the end of the world.
Let's say you were waiting in line for something else-something you'd have to wait in line for, and everyone had to leave the line, then you came back to find you lost your spot. Then intensify that times about 1000, since he's camping out and there for weeks. Would you find it funny? No. That's the point I'm making.
