Did Capcom delay Monster Hunter 4 in order to work on a Vita version? That's the supposed rumor coming from the latest issue of Game Lab. Obviously, this is only just a rumor for now. Capcom isn't going to respond to any of these claims until they're good and ready. Thanks to all that sent this in!

Chris Svensson has stated that currently there are no plans to bring the game to any consoles that it isn't already announced for.

They are the same guys who released the rumor that DQ9 was delayed for a PSP port so it's very unlikely this is true. Also, unless a lot of money hatting was involved why would capcom delay their biggest franchise in Japan (making it miss their fiscal year) to save the vita? (As the rumor suggests). It would also split the user base for mh4 which doesn't work for the franchise. Just my thoughts on this rumor which has been going around.

with the disappointing sales of RE4 I dont think Capcom's shareholders would be very happy about this move if true so I doubt it. Besides that the MH franchise is on 3ds now, Vita doesnt have the install base to justify a port right now. Maybe a 4 delux addition down the line if sales pick up.

Vita... What's that? Lol! I kid! I kid! Seriously though, I would believe the original PSP before I would believe the Vita. It has a larger install base, and has had more MH titles in the past.
Oh just to let people know. The magazine that given out this information also has said this in the past.

The first time they said that Monster Hunter was coming to the Vita. They said it was a Portable 3rd G game with new monsters, and other versions of old monsters. Like a Gold Lagi!
Not sure why the downvotes. The Vita needs games. And MH4 could help it out.. Especially in Japan.

What a shovel magazine LOL. Maybe Vita will have its MH someday (2014-2015) but no way it'll be released in original form along with 3ds lol.
we gotta stop doing this, last year we had 4 rumors of 3ds games coming to Vita, none was true and not this one neither.Vita playerbase is just too small- and 2nd, you have to realize a vita launch would have to be announced with good enough time before launch-therefore the delay would have to be way over the initial release .
