Wii U Virtual Console supports 2 GamePads

The proof is in the image above! Now we just need Nintendo to start selling them separately... For those wondering, you can also use the Classic Controller Pro or Wii Remote.

I don't think this proves anything other than Gamepad can be player 2 while wii remote or pro controller can be player 1

They probably should design it with just two slots instead of just making it look like it supports four. Or is that just for the wii remotes?

Don't they have something like this for 3DS, where you switch player number on those NES 2 player games?

And I'm sure it's also just a quick in-VC way of assigning player numbers to any controllers being used in multiplayer games.

I was about to post the same thing, you just beat me too it.

To clarify, I think this is changing whether the GamePad is acting as the controller connected to Port 1 or Port 2 in a NES.

What Kolma said. This just says that the game pad can be player 1 or player 2. The other player might have to use the tv with another controller.

Yeah, sorry, but this proves nothing. All that can be gleamed from this image is that you can change which order the person with the GamePad is playing, 1, 2, 3 or 4. Nothing more. Let's not make things up!

That's not what this post was meant to suggest. It was about VC supporting 2 gamepads ONCE THAT FUNCTIONALITY GETS ADDED TO THE SYSTEM.

And this btw does not indicate that. It just relates to multiplayer in general since you can't change the Wiimote's player number.
