Oooh the first to comment on a Pach-Attack... Why do GoNintendo-ers (GoNintenights?) hate him so much? He just expresses his opinion.
Because he lies and is a general a**hole, I guess.
It's not an opinion when he's always trying to bring Nintendo down!
How does one "lie" when making predictions?
Lemme write the real reason: He hates Nintendo and generally supports his claims with evidence, but everyone ignores the evidence because he hates Nintendo!
That, and this is a news blog. He isn't remotely news. Even the things on here that aren't news (art, etc.) are at least interesting. There's no appeal or information in the articles RMC posts regarding him.

That's incorrect.
I've watched him long enough to know he literally trolls. I'm sure he's all serious business when it comes to his job, but this stuff that doesn't matter, face to face with the general public, he just says inflammatory things because he wants to rile people up. The actions of an asshole.
I can't speak to the idea that he lies or not. If he's being paid, I'm sure he and his staff do all the research, if he's just being off the cuff, maybe he makes some mistakes.
And the users here make it too easy for him.
Pachter is an idiot who usually gets things wrong, as well as a broken record when it comes to Nintendo bashing. Seriously, stop giving this guy exposure, and stop acting like he's worth listening to.

You're too mysterious for me.
Pachter is a money grubbing troll that says the things he says because of the advice hes told investors. He's down on Nintendo because he's told investors to buy Sony and MS stock. Yet Sony has a failing portable device, sold their US headquarters to repay debts. and lost 3 billion in the gaming division last year. Yet Pachter says "Sony is destroying Nintendo.
He's motivated by money, but its going to blow up in his face because Sony's gaming division is in big trouble and Microsoft isn't doing much better. Their gaming division is tanking as well. I'm not being a fanboy, i'm just stating facts. Nintendo sells more first party software than Microsoft and Sony Combined.
Pachter has refused to answer my questions on the 3DS sales charts because he's been telling investors the portable market will get swallowed by tablets and I phones. But the Japanese sales charts says otherwise. And the 3DS is only going to get better with Pokemon X and Y, Animal Crossing in the US, and Smash Bros on 3DS.
Pachter is not a troll, hes just a guy that has to stick by his investor advice hes given. But they will see hes wrong as Sony is laying off employees of Super Bot and the team who made Starhawk. Microsoft has no first party IPs and a bunch of Kinect crap that clearly isn't doing as well anymore.
Nintendo will win this generation because they have the IPs to do so.
This is not a news blog. There are posts about pancakes, and a wide assortment of things not "remotely news". Reviews are not "news", they are opinions, yet reviews are linked here all the time from sites like IGN, GameInformer, etc.
Again, if you disagree with what Pachter said, you should be able to state why you disagree with what he said in this video, and back up your side of it. I have taken Pachter to task over several things in the past, but I don't just disagree with the man because he may not like a company...or come off that way sometimes.
Pancakes are art and reviews of new games are news.
It's not "news" relevant to the "industry". Art =/= news. Now, if Nintendo was releasing a pancake pan, that would be "news". If there were actual review standards, the reviews MIGHT be news...but considering a hobo's opinion means just as much as most "reviewers" these days, reviews are not news. They are opinions, and most of the time they aren't even based around playing games for any length and trying to enjoy them. They apparently are based on trailers, press releases, screenshots, etc. How many reviews can you show me that show me hours to completion? Not many. Probably few, if any, on GameInformer, IGN, NintendoLife, GameSpot and most other sites with "reviews".
Pachter is an industry analyst, and GameTrailers wants his opinions on stuff. Pachter talks to Reggie and other executives at companies, which does give him some insight we might now have (still, I don't agree with things he says and have written a few pieces before on it).
Reviews are opinions (often apparently not even based on completing games), just as what Pachter says is opinion, but he does often use numbers/inside info to make the statements he does. I can admit that he does "troll", and he admits it himself.
Read my first post regarding art. Reggie does not give him insight. Nothing seems to, based on the mean accuracy of his suppositions.
Actually, being that Pachter spoiled one of Sony's big E3 announcements before it happened, I don't think Pachter just shoots from the hip all the time (the majority of the time, maybe...and I have written about it).
He does meet with NoA execs and staff about stuff, and just because your opinion is, "There's no appeal or information in the articles RMC posts regarding him.", doesn't mean it applies to others. I try to take a balanced approach with everybody, even giving people that outright lie to me and publish junk reviews the benefit of the doubt. I have more respect for Pachter though, because he actually REPLIES to emails, and will explain himself. That's more than I can say for certain staff at Nintendo Life, IGN, GameInformer, and even a few other recognized sites.
Pachter is approachable, which is probably why GameTrailers likes doing his stuff...
Well, he's said multiple times that the Vita is doing extremely well and the 3DS is quickly dying. Lie.
Basically everything he's saying is wrong and/or just mean. I don't hate him because he hates Nintendo, that's his choice. I hate him because he's an a**hole who lies and makes up stuff to make Nintendo look worse than they are.
And many other things, but I won't bother with it. You can think what you want, of course, I don't mind, but for me, he's an f****** a**hole~
Can you provide me links to two occasions where he has said the Vita is doing extremely well, and the 3DS is quickly dying? If you can provide me those links, with Pachter's own words saying that, I will ask him about it...assuming the words match up what you're talking about. I seriously would like to see that, if it exists.
I honestly don't remember him saying some of these things.
@MasterofMonster: Actually, he said that the 3DS was gonna sell like crazy when it first came out.
I found this video to be very educational. He explains why the NPD doesn't report numbers on digital sales. He doesn't bash anyone in this video.
Same here. I'm waiting on the examples to be provided though. I mean, if he said that, I would imagine the sources would be easy to find...assuming you know when he said them, and aren't just repeating anti-Pachter talking points.
