Super Mario RPG dev not interested in returning to that world for a sequel
Coming from a Kotaku interview with Yoshihiko Maekawa, former Super Mario RPG dev and current AlphaDream employee.
"Actually, I don't feel like I want to return to that world and use those characters in another game. I feel like I was able to accomplish what I wanted to with that world and those characters and the gameplay ideas that came out of those, and now I mostly feel like I want to make something different."
Well that's a bit of a shame. I've always wanted to see Nintendo and Square-Enix team up for a big sequel to that title. Maybe AlphaDream can hang back and let the other two go at it!
