WB Montreal working on Wii U title

UPDATE - Rumor no more!

This rumor comes from out of left field completely, so don't put any real value on it. I had a few people send it my way, so I figured I would share with you all. It comes from someone that has been a GN fan/follower for a great number of years now.

Hahaha NOPE.

EDIT: I'll have to see screens to believe this as legit.

"Guess what kids, our new game will feature DLC that may (not) be cancelled. Be sure to buy those season passes this time."

By "UPDATE: RUMOR NO MORE", do you mean to say that it's a false rumor, or that they are in fact working on a Wii U game?

Might want to clarify yourself RMC.

WB Montreal is working on *something* for the Wii U. Could be cancelled from here till its announcement, but it's currently in development.— James Scott (@jimmyelgringito) February 6, 2014

Uh huh, plausible deniability...

If WB announces a new game they will say "see I was right!"

And if no WB game is announced, "see I was right, it was cancelled before announced!"

Well as with everything Wii U, I'm sure development is a bit tenuous. I suspect there will be little support from WB and Ubi moving forward. It's the slow drip from Nintendo and the occasional indie games.

These last 4 years have been such a bummer for me personally. I do believe I've finally reached where the point I'll no longer buy Nintendo hardware.

Word to the wise: it's best to be a multi-console owner every gen. 16 bit years? Owning a SNES and Genesis put you in gaming bliss. After that? PS1 and N64, N64 for superb first and second party games, and PS1 for the third party stuff. After that it was pretty much Gamecube + PS2 or Xbox, though I feel PS2 got good first party games too thanks to Naughty Dog and Insomniac (though believe it or not, Sony doesn't own Insomniac, they're still third party, they even released a game for the 360 last gen), last gen was Wii + 360 or PS3 (once the PS3 support picked up it was pretty much "choose whichever, the support's pretty much the same"), and this gen I feel the right combo is Wii U for the first party stuff (like the N64) + take your pick, PS4, Xbone, and PC have probably the most equal support right now that honestly it just seems to come down to "whatever random exclusive catches your interest the most" because the third party releases don't seem to have many exclusives right now on either platform.

Personally I'm Wii U + PC for the time being, my interest in getting a PS4 is really only for games like Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV because aside from those two a majority of the third party games slated for release on the system are also hitting PC.

Eh, I don't know if I trust WB.

I know, all we've gotten in the last four years is:

Pikmin 3
Wind Waker HD
Super Mario Bros. 3D World
NSMBU
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Wonderful 101
The Last Story
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword
Donkey Kong Country Returns
GoldenEye 007
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Rayman Origins
Rayman Legends
Sin & Punishment-Star Successor
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Monster Hunter Tri
Red Steel 2
No More Heroes 2

and that is just exclusives or definitive versions of ports that are all EXCELENT games. It does not count the multitude of 3ds and DS games or about 50 more Wii U and Wii games that are just very good

Do you even like Nintendo?

Hmm. That 'could be cancelled' tibit doesn't sound like they have a lot of faith in their product, which begs the question: why should we, the consumer, thus?

Lack of passion, incomplete games, no DLC / Editions, and lack of advertising, that is why Nintendo gamers are wary to support you, Third Parties.

That is just a wary comment from someone outside the game, it doesn't reflect anything about the development team or the company itself. For that matter, all games could be cancelled, games like Yarn Yoshi, Watch Dogs or SMT x Fire Emblem could be cancelled tomorrow without further explanation.

I don't know about that. They can't be thrilled with Wii U sales, but the fact of the matter is, both AC games have sold 100k+ on Wii U, both Batman games have sold around 100k+ on Wii U, the Lego games tend to sell strongly on Nintendo platforms anyway, and I have a feeling that so long as it still comes out (Ubi said it is), that Watch_Dogs will sell better than AC did on Wii U. Rayman Legends also sold comparatively well to the other consoles it released on.

Those aren't stellar numbers. But I think they're enough to continue support.
