GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - What HD remakes do you want?

GN Version 5.0

This week is going WAY too fast for me. I'm really dreading my sister's wedding at the end of the week. Weddings really don't mesh with who I am. I don't like dancing, I don't drink, I hate dressing up...and so on. No knocks against anyone that digs that stuff! It's just not my cup of tea. I need the day to get here/over with! See you in a few, short hours.

Seems like there have been a few Nintendo secrets to slip out of the bag lately. Nothing is officially confirmed as true until Nintendo says it, but right now we have some pretty solid evidence as to titles heading our way. While we may not have info on any BRAND-new games, we keep seeing something pop up. It seems that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is going to be getting an HD re-release...or remake...or whatever. We won't know for sure until Nintendo confirms it, and it seems like just a matter of time right now.

When it comes to my own tastes, I'm not too big on the remake/re-release/HD front. We're seeing a lot of games from last generation get repacked/revamped for today's platforms. In my mind, I think games that get HD remakes should be at least one generation removed. I mean, I love Super Mario Galaxy 2. It's one of my favorite games of all-time. If Nintendo announced it was getting an HD remake, I'd be pleased...but I'd much rather see that treatment go to older titles like Sunshine or Super Mario 64.

The thing is, HD remakes are a big deal nowadays. Gamers are eating up these remakes/makeovers, which is why companies keep pumping them out. Sometimes I see companies going a bit too far with the revamps, taking away some of the charm from the original release. Nintendo seems to have a good track record so far, particularly paying attention to the Zelda franchise. Wind Waker HD was outstanding, and Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask 3D are certainly some of the best games on the 3DS. It's clear Nintendo seems the Zelda series as one that really benefits from the remake approach.

As we wait to see if the Twilight Princess HD rumor is the real deal, let's take some time and look back on other games we'd like to see brought into the HD era. In all honesty, I'd have to pick Super Mario Sunshine as my top choice. I'm looking for an excuse to go back into that game and play through start-to-finish. I may not fire up the Wii/GameCube to do so, but I'd be all-in on an HD remake. That's my pick, but what's yours? What games are you itching to see get an HD conversion?
