Ah, remember when this was a big deal? Somehow, some way, the IGN logo made it into the official Okami boxart on the Wii. Certainly an oversight by Capcom, but developer Ready at Dawn doesn't have any idea how it came about.

Coming from Ready at Dawn's CEO Ru Weerasuriya...

Honestly, it was a shock even to us. I was just like ‘what is that’? It didn’t seem like like a decision that was like a big decision taken by a lot of people. It almost felt like somebody, somewhere, decided to do something and we were just like, ‘huh, I don’t think anybody agreed to this.’

I mean I don’t know, I don’t know what it was because we never got to the bottom of it. I just saw it, and I was just like ‘I don’t want to know.’ Honestly, I didn’t pursue it any further. I was just like, ‘we’re done with that game, I don’t really know if we want to ask’ and that was that.

On an interesting side note, Weerasuriya says that the deal for Okami's Wii port was made when a few beers were shared between Weerasuriya and Capcom's VP at the time.
