I'm happy to see that game doing well. The developer really deserves all the support he can get.

I just bought the game on 3DS yesterday. It's pretty fun and I'm glad I waited out and didn't get it on WiiWare.

I'm glad we got to show him some love on another Nintendo platform.

I honestly expected him to pull the 'No one bought it on WiiWare, so I'm withdrawing all future Nintendo support' move.

And I'm curious how the specific platforms break down in units sold. Hopefully we'll find out sometime.

He knew from day 1 that the WiiWare version was a loss. He just didn't care, though he does feel a bit stung over the lack of success on 360. Must have been a decent-sized expense. The trick is for the 3DS version to overcome the PSN success since it did pretty well on PS3 and Vita.

Of course it sold better, 3DS is superior to 360 in every way.

For the umpteenth dozen time I'll say to the 80% or so rest of the 3rd party developers out there, "Real smart business move withholding your support for the 3DS." Clearly we've seen proof after proof of just how sound a business decision that was. :roll:

I'm happy for him. He continued working on the Wii version when he knew he would never make a dime because he felt he promised something to Nintendo fans.

@JaniN83
A little off-topic but you aren't giving Nintendo fans a good name. Be happy that we all get to play fun games, bro.

And I should really get around to getting the game. Looks fun. Maybe when I pay off my MK8 pre-order and after I buy Golden Sun and Yoshi's Island....

that makes a lot of sense. Steam is compromised by year round sales (mid week , we, 15days, gmg, amazon...) and for indies the numerous bundle (the revenue can reach down to 15-20c). Xbla has very high profile (and very few) games. Psn will rely each year more on psn+ and those "sales" are evidently not a big source of revenue, otherwise he would not count them separately. In any case, both sony and ms will need to justify the online fee and indies games are a great way to do that. That's why there are still no full ps4 games on psn+. Also quick math psn cost as they like to brag 30-50$/12, 2-5bucks a month divided by the 4-6 games ... that's not a lot. Great way to inflate numbers unfortunately.

On the eshopS, on the other hand, prices seem stable for now. Not a lot of competition from the heavyweight of indies (trine2 maybe), no minecraft, trials, trackmania. Self publishing, standard rate from nintendo, control over prices, and 45 millions 3ds. Also the indies need for lower numbers can go well with the dedicated userbases, which even the wii u seems to have. Double triple dipping seems to be the rule for the indie games.... considering the very low prices on steam, psn+... Heck even i have most of the wii u eshop games also on steam not because i wanted but at 20c - 1$ why not.

I can't imagine this type of game would sell very well on either of the dudebro boxes

It is pretty surprising considering the difference in size of their install bases.

3DS: 1 M$: 0... And another $1 billion flushed down the toilet. :lol:
