IGN - Archie Comics working on Mega Man X comic
Coming from an IGN interview with various Archie Comics employees...
IGN Comics: Mega Man X is obviously a huge fan favorite. How long into getting the Mega Man property did you know you wanted to explore this world?
Ian Flynn: When I was told we were getting the Mega Man license, I had three questions, in this order: 1.) Really?! 2.) Did we get X too? 3.) How likely is a crossover with Sonic?
Paul Kaminski: Sonic/Mega Man: Worlds Collide was just the beginning! From day one we knew we wanted to get to Mega Man X it was just a matter of how and when. X is almost a completely different animal from the classic Mega Man franchise. You need to approach it from exactly the right perspective, style, and build-up. Now that all the pieces are in place, we can finally do all those things and make the X stories that the fans have been demanding! And they do – a quick glance at the letter columns in the back of the Mega Man monthly comics will show you that!
