GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - What's your game of the year?

I am seeing Star Wars today. I can't even believe I'm saying that. The day is finally here. I've had my tickets for quite some time and I'll be attending a midnight showing. All those years of waiting and now the big moment is almost here! How in the world am I supposed to sleep with all this excitement?! See you in a few, short hours.

Here at GoNintendo, we don't do 'Best of the Year' lists. I find them to be played out and they don't really sit well with my style. That's not a knock against any outlet out there that puts them together. I just don't think I'm anywhere near qualified to name games of the year in any official manner. I may mention a game as my personal pick for the year, but there's simply no fair way to go about it with official awards. I think to fairly have Game of the Year awards, you have to properly spend time with all games that hit a platform. I simply do not have the time/manpower to do that.

That said, I don't see any harm in talking to you guys about your picks of the year. We're all just regular people here and I really love hearing what you've poured the most time into during the year. Usually if you've played it for a long time and keep going back to it, you enjoyed it quite a bit! Time to hear about the titles that you found drawing you back to Nintendo's platforms time and time again.

To be 100% fair, there are still a couple weeks left in the year where games can come out. I mean, Minecraft is hitting Wii U in just a matter of hours, and that could end up being a game of the year for some Wii U owners! If you don't feel comfortable picking a favorite until the actual end of the year is here, that's fine by me. For those of you that already know what you want to name, let's hear it!
