GoNintendo 'End of Day' thought - 2016 brings a flood of 3DS RPGs

Fun batch of news from Nintendo today. Like to see surprises like that. I was asking for a Nintendo Direct yesterday, and while I didn't get that, we did get some updates! I guess that's better than nothing. I'll take what I can get! See you in a few, short hours.

Wondering what content was coming out for the 3DS in 2016? If the next few months are any indication, it's going to be the year of the RPG! Companies have always been kind to Nintendo when it comes to their portables, and that's especially true with the RPG genre. Japanese devs love to create RPGs in general, but they really seem to dig putting them out on portables. Maybe that has to do with the success of the genre in Japan, or the success of Nintendo's portables...or both! Whatever it is, Nintendo fans are never at a shortage for RPGs on handheld.

Just today, Nintendo put out a press release detailing all the upcoming RPGs hitting 3DS in the next few months. I mean, it's quite an impressive list, mixed with old and new. I mean, just look at all this content!

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam, Fire Emblem Fates, Final Fantasy Explorers, Pokemon R/B/Y, Bravely Second, Dragon Quest VII, Dragon Quest VIII, Project X Zone 2.

That is a LOT of RPG content to jam-pack on the 3DS, and that's only the titles Nintendo talked about today! You can bet there are other RPGs heading to the system in the next few months, especially when you consider indie devs and Japanese titles localizing experiences for the eShop. Even when you're talking to someone like me that's not big into RPGs, I can find more than a couple things to like about that lineup!

Are you an RPG fan? Which of these titles are you looking forward to the most and why? Are you more excited about old-school re-releases/remakes or the brand-new stuff? There's certainly enough on both sides to choose from, so pick your side and let us know!
