Dance-loving Trainers are hosting an event to welcome the Frontier Brain Dahlia to Pasio. While seeking more participants, Tierno, Fantina, and friends come across Adaman and Irida struggling to deepen their bond with their new Pokémon partners. At the dancers’ urging, the Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan leaders don stylish new outfits and attempt to connect with the hearts of their new Pokémon through dance. Find out how these Trainers from long ago step into the modern era during Costume Event: The Power of Dance.

Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark are a Ghost-type strike sync pair who have a useful habit of pulling off attacks without draining the move gauge! Their Hit: Free Move Next/Special Boost ↑1 passive skill applies the Free Move Next effect to themselves or increases their Special Moves ↑ Next effect by one rank when their attack is successful.

Their Trainer move Battle from the Heart! raises Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s Sp. Atk and evasiveness by four stat ranks and also applies the Free Move Next effect to themselves. That evasiveness boost proves quite useful when combined with their Blind Spot passive skill, which powers up the pair’s sync move every time their evasiveness increases.

Their Attack Trap 9 passive skill—which leaves the target trapped when one of Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s attacks is successful—works in conjunction with their Mystifying Bitter Malice buddy move. Mystifying Bitter Malice becomes twice as powerful when used against targets that are affected by a status condition, flinching, confused, or—yes, you guessed it—trapped, while also lowering the target’s Attack by four stat ranks and making the target flinch. Just be aware that Mystifying Bitter Malice can only be used after your team has used three moves in total.

For more details on Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s passive skills and moves, check out their in-game sync pair scout screen. Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark are available to scout from March 15, 2024, at 11:00 p.m. PDT to April 2, 2024, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.
