25 years later, a Konami Code cheat has been found in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness

Konami has a ton of legacy franchises under their belt, and Castlevania is definitely one of the biggest. Millions of Castlevania games have worked their way through all sorts of series entries over the years, but its taken 2.5 decades for someone to discover a secret hiding in an Nintendo 64 classic.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness came out 25 years ago, but it turns out there was one more Easter egg waiting to be discovered. Thanks to speedrunners Moises and Liquid Cat, we now know that a variation of the classic Konami code offers some pretty fantastic unlocks for this 3D Castlevania outing.

The version of the Konami Code in Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness unlocks all characters and costumes, and it also lets you start off with Hard Mode. Here’s how you input the code if you’d like to try it yourself.
