The Sonic Cinematic Universe has been killing it for SEGA and Paramount, with each subsequent release doing better than the last. Now the Sonic saga has taken its first leap onto streaming services with an original series, and fans were more than willing to gobble the show up in record time.

Paramount has announced that the debut weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) of Knuckles on Paramount+ brought in over 4 million hours of watch time worldwide. This is a record for a Paramount+ original series. This would equal about 1.42 million complete watches, based on the show’s 6-episode 169-minute runtime.

Not surprisingly, the success of Knuckles also boosted other Sonic-related content on Paramount+. Following the show’s release, all other Sonic content saw a boost in viewership of 278% over the daily average. Last but not least, Knuckles has already become Paramount+’s most-watched kids and family title.

Knuckles is a new live-action series follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.

Meh, it lost it about halfway in when Knuckles becomes more of a sidecharacter to Wade.
