GN Version 5.0

4 March, 2021 – Indie publisher Digerati is thrilled to announce it's bringing Signs of the Sojourner to consoles. The critically acclaimed narrative card game will be available to download 17 March on PS4, 18 March for Nintendo Switch, and 19 March on Xbox One. All versions will have a 20% launch discount (PS+ subs only on PS4). The debut title from developer Echodog Games, Signs of the Sojourner was released last year for Windows and macOS. Praised for its heartfelt story and card-based conversations, Signs of the Sojourner featured on Game of the Year lists from various sites and channels, including Get Indie Gaming, Giant Bomb, Paste Magazine, and Vice. It also won Edge magazine's 'Artisan Award', and was nominated for 'Best Storytelling' at the Golden Joystick Awards.

"It's been so exciting to see the reception!" says Dyala Kattan-Wright, game designer and founder of Echodog Games. "One of our goals was to explore themes that we hoped would be highly relatable to most folks--leaving home and returning changed, exploring identity and shifting relationships. It's been amazing and humbling to see how people relate to different aspects of the game and use it as a lens to examine or reflect on their own experiences. "And now we're excited to bring Signs of the Sojourner to a wider audience, and to see what decks and relationships players develop during their journeys in the game."

GN Version 5.0

Thursday, 4th March 2021 – Team17 have today released the Farming Update for console players of The Survivalists, the survival co-op experience set in The Escapists universe. Already available to PC players on Steam, the update introduces crops, widespread improvements on the combat, and a whole host of changes following comprehensive and engaging community feedback.

The update lets players plant and harvest crops for resources (even rare ones) while new, dangerous plants can be grown as a defence mechanism. Monkeys can be taught to help with crops via the Monkey Mimic system, and there are new structures, recipes, and items to aid your arable adventure, including a faster raft to make island-hopping more expedient. Combat as a whole has been overhauled too, giving greater control over direction of attacks for more fluid fighting. Lunge and knockback changes have also been made, and stamina has been altered, leaving players less likely to be worn out during combat and harvesting resources.

The update also includes new dyeing and weapon benches, a grindstone for weapon improvements, net and fish traps, a refuse pit to destroy items, and new water and cosmetic features. For a full list of changes included with the Farming Update, check out the patch notes here.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Pyra/Mythra coverage live blog

by yoshiller
04 March 2021
GN Version 5.0

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate creator, Masahiro Sakurai, has shared information regarding the latest downloadable fighter set, Pyra & Mythra. Here is a recap of everything in the presentation:

- Sakurai had to record this presentation at his home

- The stage included in this fighter pack is "Cloud Sea of Alrest"

- Different characters, primarily Drivers and their Blades, from Xenoblade 2 appear in the background of the stage.

- Sakurai considered having Rex fight alongside Pyra / Mythra, but having Pyra and Mythra be able to switch between each other was already pushing the limits of the game.

- Pyra and Mythra can change into one another by using the Down Special attack.

- On the character select screen, a player can choose to start as either Pyra or Mythra by pressing the Y button.

- Pyra specializes in power, and Mythra specializes in speed.

- Mythra has "Foresight," an ability that will slow her opponents down when she successfully dodges an attack.

- Most other moves between the characters are the same, but Pyra's moves are a bit slower in exchange for having more power and reach.

- In some cases, such as with their Up Smash attack, Mythra's Up Smash hits multiple times, while Pyra's Up Smash only hits once.

- Pyra's Neutral Special is Flame Nova, a powerful attack that can hit opponents on either side of her.

- Mythra's Neutral Special is Lightning Buster, a long-reaching attack.

- Pyra's Side Special is Blazing End, an attack where she temporarily throws her sword forward. The attack acts as a projectile, but it leaves Pyra open to counterattacks when used. She is also unable to use other attacks when the move is used in the air.

- Mythra's Side Special is Photon Edge, an attack that allows Mythra to dash to side while slicing opponents. It works well as a recovery move.

- Pyra's Up Special is Prominence Revolt. It is primarily a recovery move that aids in recovering vertically, but it has great launch power if it can hit an opponent.

- Myhthra's Up Special is Ray of Punishment. It is another recovery move, but energy blasts, known as Chroma Dust, can be shot if the player holds down the B button while recovering.

- The Down Special move of both characters is Swap. This move allows Pyra and Mythra to freely switch between one another, and slight invincibility is granted when either one uses the move.

- Pyra's Final Smash is Burning Sword, and Mythra's Final Smash is Sacred Arrow. Burning Sword is meant for KOs while Sacred Arrow is meant for damage.

- Sakurai says he likes Pyra better.

- Rex appears in the battle start animation for both characters, and he appears in their victory animations and taunts.

- Kirby's copy ability will change based on whether he inhales Pyra or Mythra.

- A total of 16 songs are available when purchasing the Pyra / Mythra fighter pack.

- These 16 songs can also be played in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's other Xenoblade stage, Gaur Plain.

- A special spirit board based on Xenoblade 2 will become available once Pyra / Mythra are purchased.

- Special art for some of the Spirits were custom-made for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Spirit Board.

- Following an update, if Rex's Spirit reaches Level 99, he'll transform into a new, Master Driver form Spirit.

- The Mii costumes for this presentation are Monster Hunter Equipment, Rathalos Equipment, Felyne, and Arthur (from Ghosts 'n' Goblins).

- Pyra / Mythra will be available later today, alongside the new Mii costumes.

- Sakurai reveals that he did not write the script to the reveal trailer for Pyra / Mythra.

- Monolith Soft was in charge of the reveal trailer.

- Sakurai reveals that he has official Pyra and Mythra figures for modeling and animation reference.

The Netherworld Detective (voiced by Hinata Tadokoro)

Detective Rank: 7th
Special Skill: Occult Investigation
Major Cases Solved: Werewolf Case

A veteran detective who specializes in cases with a strong sense of the occult. Aiming to solve the unsolved “Vampire Case,” he has acquired knowledge of the occult from all ages and countries. Whenever an incident occurs, he tends to assume it is “the work of the occult,” but when he is calm, his deductive skills are among the best in the Detective Alliance.

The Gourmet Detective (voiced by Akiko Nakagawa)

“I’ve just built up a tolerance to poison thanks to sampling so many ever since my childhood. Though I can’t eat potassium cyanide since it gives me mouth pain.”

Detective Rank: 9th
Special Skill: Supertaster
Major Cases Solved: Sea Turtle Soup Case

She possesses a “supertaste” far beyond the sense of smell and taste of an ordinary person, and can even sometimes guess the emotions of others. Since she has tried every taste imaginable since childhood, she is immune to various poisons and can even enjoy eating poisonous substances. Though usually a quiet person, she feels that murder depriving people of their freedom to eat is the greatest injustice, and is passionate about saving lives and condemning murderers.

The Suffering Detective (voiced by Rina Honizumi)

“It’s not some fantastical power… More like a horrible temperament that makes everyone around me miserable.”

Detective Rank: 14th
Special Skill: Temperament of a Great Detective
Major Cases Solved: Building Six Murder Case

An extremely negative, half-British and half-Japanese girl. Since childhood, she has had the peculiar tendency to attract phenomenon and objects that put her in danger, and is thus called “The Suffering Detective.” Due to her upbringing of being feared by others as an angel of death, she is unable to thoughtlessly make contact with another person. However, her ability to sense crises, which has allowed her to survive while constantly facing life-threatening danger, is a major asset in the investigation of dangerous cases.

Dragalia Lost - Content update for March 4th 2021, Dragalia Lost director Yuji Okada replies to play feedback

by yoshiller
04 March 2021
GN Version 5.0

Dragalia Lost Director Yuji Okada Responds to Player Feedback (from February 21, 2021)
On February 21, 2021, Dragalia Lost director Yuji Okada replied to feedback players sent via the in-game Leave Feedback feature.

This notification contains the contents of an interview with director Okada that was conducted by Yumi Uchiyama and Ayaka Asai, voice actors for the Japanese-language version of Dragalia Lost.

Notes:
・The feedback featured in this notification was chosen from that received between January 1 and January 31.
・Tap Feedback on the game's title screen to open the Leave Feedback screen.
・The content of the interview has been edited for this notification, so wording may differ from the original conversation.
・The content of the responses is from the time of the interview, so content that is in-development may differ by the time of its release in-game.

■Responses to Questions That Could Not Be Addressed During the Broadcast Time of the Japanese-Language Caged Desire Livestream on YouTube Live on February 5
Uchiyama & Asai: Some players believe that the plots of event quests are generally intended to fill in any gaps in understanding that may emerge during the main campaign's storyline or shine a light on the lesser-known aspects of Dragalia Lost's lore. Is that indeed the case?

Okada: There are many aspects of Dragalia Lost's world that cannot be fully fleshed out in the limited scope of the main campaign alone. For example, there are many important figures and organizations, such as those from Hinomoto, that have only appeared in events thus far. At the same time, regions like North Grastaea and its related characters have been slowly revealed over time in both the main campaign and event stories. By doing so, we can focus on developing certain characters in events first without worrying about derailing the ongoing plot of the main campaign. With that said, if we include too much of a character's development in a standalone event, then their impact on the main campaign may be lessened, so we must strike a careful balance between these two approaches. It's worth nothing that the Fractured Futures and Forgotten Truths raid events that ran during the first and second anniversaries have been made available to play in the Event Compendium at any time precisely because their plots are so closely intertwined with that of the main campaign.

Uchiyama & Asai: Will we ever see the Wagabond Pupper again?

Okada: Players seemed to really enjoy last year's April Fools event in which they could play with a puppy that wandered into the Halidom for a single day. To those who have been clamoring for the adorable doggo's return ever since, I will say this much: this event may return in one form or another this year, so stay tuned!

■Responses to Feedback from Players
Uchiyama & Asai: Some players feel that the recently added Morsayati Reckoning quest is just as hard as the Legend-difficulty quests in the Agito Uprising. Since the former drops materials necessary for functional upgrades while the latter only drops materials necessary for cosmetic upgrades, players who are not strong enough to clear this quest are prevented from fully developing their Halidom. Why not make materials necessary for functional upgrades available from other sources as well?

Okada: This quest was assigned a required might of 40,000 and designed with the expectation that players would level their facilities as high as they possibly could before attempting to undertake it. However, since facility level is not the only factor in determining whether or not a player can clear a quest, we are considering making the materials from this quest available from other quests as well.

Uchiyama & Asai: In the Alberian Battle Royale, if the match comes down to the final three players and one of them is using the Seimei adventurer skin (and thus has access to his unique skill) while the remaining two are not, the players controlling standard adventurers may form an impromptu alliance against the player controlling Seimei due to the perceived advantage granted by his unique skill. This seems a bit unfavorable for both parties, does it not? If adventurer skins with unique skills continue to appear in the future, players may feel forced to use them over the standard adventurers or gang up on them during the battle, and the balance between weapon types may suffer. Are these skins intended to be only available for a limited time, or do you plan on adding more as time goes on?

Okada: In a three-way battle, it makes sense for two players to first focus on one in order to increase their own odds of survival. We do not plan to add adventurer skins with unique skills on a frequent basis, but when we do, we endeavor to ensure that their unique skill is not overly powerful. In addition, we are constantly monitoring the usage and win rates of each weapon type and are performing balance adjustments as necessary each month. Our ultimate goal is to allow for the introduction of interesting and unique skills while maintaining a fair balance between weapon types so that all players can enjoy the experience regardless of what adventurer or weapon they choose.

Uchiyama & Asai: Players are appreciative of the various events that occur from time to time that allow them to focus on upgrading their team, including double drops for Elemental Ruins, Dragon Trials, and the Imperial Onslaught. Materials from these quests, as well as others, such as orichalcum, tend to be in short supply for new players, so why not triple the drop rate and make these in-demand items easier to come by during events?

Okada: This consideration for new players is admirable. However, we believe that double drops is already quite generous, and we would like to save triple drops for marquee events. I encourage players to check out the event available now that increases drops for certain quests on a daily basis. Orichalcum and certain other materials tend to be scarce early on and only available from higher-difficulty quests, so we'd like to increase access to them by making them available from the Treasure Trade and as event rewards.

Director Okada will continue to reply to the feedback players send via Leave Feedback again in the future. We're looking forward to hearing your comments. (The feedback featured in the next notification will be chosen from feedback received between February 1 and February 28.)

Thank you for playing Dragalia Lost.
